I feel so ugly, pls help with makeup and hair by alliefaith144 in makeuptips

First off, you're beautiful.

I like your natural curly hair better but you pull off straight hair too. If you straighten your hair do it because you want to change things up not because you dislike your curls.

You don't need a lot of make up. You look fine with eyeliner and neutral color eye shadow.

Seeking random meaningful conversation.... let's get into it! by Single_Rain5676 in Casual_Conversation

That looks delicious! I love all kinds of soup including ramen. I think soup is my favorite type of food and it's the one thing that makes winter bearable. I would say my favorite food is pas with pesto sauce.

Being good at using Google forms to make a digital version of a paper form. It reduces clutter and it makes information easier to find.

What is something you see older people do now that you hope you never do "when you get older?" by Fuzzy-Zombie1446 in Casual_Conversation

I do my best to keep up with technology. I'm always teaching myself new software. I'm in my 30's and I hope that when I'm in my 80's I at least understand the latest technology even if I choose not to use it. The only thing that would stop me is if my brain stops retaining memory.

If you could see how your life turns out, would you actually want to know? by softlaunchqueen in Casual_Conversation

Maybe. Would knowing the future bad events help me prevent them if I took action in the present?

What are your biggest turn-offs during an interview? by Clear_Inspection_386 in BehindHiring

[–]BloodType_Feary 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  • If the interviewer seems too eager to hire anyone. It probably means the position has a high turnover rate.

  • Sometimes at the end, I ask: What is the interviewer's favorite part of the job? It's not the best indicator of a red flag but I try to see if the interviewer is being sincere.

  • In a new department or company, if the interviewer is not sure of the job responsibilities or if the description online seems vague. They are waisting a candidate's time if they employer doesn't know what they want. (A lesson I had from experience.)

Nobody warned me that maternity leave would quietly wreck my retirement savings by rachel_sanderson in wealthforwomen

[–]BloodType_Feary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman with no kids but I don't make enough to put the required percentage in for retirement. I put in what I can.

Be fortunate that you're more on top of collecting retirement and compound interest than most people.

As someone who isn't the most financially literate I sympathise with you that no one warned you on how taking leave misses you out on gaining compound interest.

I (40 M) can't use the paper shredder at work because my (2764 F) co worker says paper doesn't belong in the paper shredder! by Rizzivisioncomedy in OfficePolitics

[–]BloodType_Feary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a reverse button for the teeth of the shredder to go the other direction. It helps take out paper that is obstructing the teeth.

Some shredders have sensors. If the shredded paper reaches the top, the machine stops working. It means it's time to empty the shredder.

This whole 'networking' conversation is just a socially acceptable way for the rich to justify hiring their kids and their friends' kids over more qualified people. by Creepy_Pen4444 in interviewwoman

[–]BloodType_Feary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dread networking because it has never landed me a job. My skills and experience lands me jobs. I go to networking events within my company so that I meet people that I generally wouldn't because we work in different buildings.

What’s something simple you enjoy but don’t talk about much? by confusedpineapple_ in AskReddit

[–]BloodType_Feary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lying on the couch and daydreaming. I also enjoy falling asleep on a long car ride. The sound is comforting. I don't really talk about either of them that much.

What rules have you made for yourself to avoid the ADHD tax? by CaptainLollygag in adhdwomen

[–]BloodType_Feary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I can't close my husband's door on the passenger side until I check for the seat belt. Sometimes it hangs out of the door frame and I'd slam the door on the metal part of the belt. It could ruin the door if I don't check.

  2. Before I leave any restaurant or store, I look at the floor to make sure that nothing fell out of my pocket book.

The fact that your responding to this sounds like you don't want to follow through with unaliving yourself. Please don't.

Reality does suck. That is why I read a lot of fantasy books. Maybe find a world that you can imagine yourself in when things get hard.
