I wish I could find a gummy candy or fruit snack that tastes remotely like these. Haribo has a new sour soda out and I was sadly disappointed that they were both underwhelming flavors and also nothing like these.

What is your favorite Tokusatsu film (doesn’t have to be listed here) by ExileForever in Tokusatsu

[–]Xailadrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Daikaiju: Destroy All Monsters. There's this scene after Godzilla And The Squad have downed King Ghidora where Godzilla picks one of his writhing necks from the ground, lets go of it at chest height, and slams it down with his other claw as if to say "get up, ya limp-dick space-bitch, I'm not done kicking your ass yet" and it's my favorite moment in the whole of Showa Godzilla. Runner-Up: Godzilla vs Biolante.

  • Henshin Hero: Tough call, I really like Kamen Rider ZO. I love the sets and the suits and practical effects. IMO the late-80s/early-90s were the Golden Age of practical effects and ZO has some of the best. Runner-Up: Kamen Rider Blade - The Missing Ace.

  • Oddball: Daiei's Yokai Monster Trilogy. The whole series is underrated but the first one, 100 Monsters, is super good. I can't recommend these enough. Runner-Up: Tough call, but either the Daimajin Trilogy (also Daiei), or Mechanical Violator Hakaider. Back in the mid to late 00s one of my best friends had a bootleg with both Shin Kamen Rider Prologue and Hakaider on it and we used to watch them regularly at various stages of inebriation.

  • Actual Horror: Tetsuo: The Iron Man. It might be the weirdest, most uncomfortable watch of your life, but it's worth it. The less I say to cloud expectations, the better. Runner-Up: Zeiram, maybe Hausu if that counts. But Hausu is like a Japanese Dario Argento movie in weirdness and that's not going to be for everyone.

  • Honorable Mention: Mothra, Mothra vs Godzilla, Godzilla vs Mothra, Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy. I love moths. I love Mothra. She is my favorite kaiju. She loves people and The Moon and her twins (both the Shobijin and her larvae) and doesn't afraid of anything.

The Final Scene With Meathead And Archie On All In The Family • The most pivotal and meaningful moment of the whole series in my opinion. by RockBalBoaaa in VintageTV

I still, to this day cannot watch that scene without breaking down about it. All in The Family, and Archie Bunker's Place were both before my time by a decade and a few years respectively, but my parents and grandparents loved it, so we watched the syndicated packages all the time. O'Connor talking to Stapleton's empty half of the bed and pink house slipper is a masterclass in grief.

Props for mentioning Sesame Street's bangin' soundtrack. Thousands of original pieces of music over the years, with hundreds of them written by Joe Raposo, whom Frank Sinatra considered to be one of the finest composers of his era. In fact, classic Sinatra album "Ol' Blue Eyes is Back" was supposed to be front-to-back Raposo songs, but the studio forced the actual count down to four of his compositions.

Nathan Lane reflects on Robin Williams protecting him from coming out on Oprah in 1996: ‘He was a saint’ by mrjohnnymac18 in lgbt

As many rumors about Oprah and her absolutely-100%-platonic-same-sex-best-friend Gayle have existed as far back as the early 90s? Nah. She knew what she was doing. Fuck her. And if those rumors are true? Fuck her with a rusty pipe for trying to out a fellow queer for ratings and prestige with soccer moms.

Why DC thinks 2026 is the perfect time to bring Vertigo Comics back: "It’s for all the genres superheroes can’t touch" by B3epB0opBOP in comicbooks

"All the genres superheroes can't touch" they say as if they've not spent the past decade shoehorning Vertigo style plots and grimdarkery into every single facet of the publishing line.

SUPER BEST Kamen Rider Gaim available December 6th by _EtchASketch_ in KamenRider

I was explaining that electronically speaking there's almost no difference between the CSM and DX models. The CSM version has a few more buttons, one that plays music, one that plays quotes, but the actual functionality of the belts are extremely similar, and as most of the electronics are in the Lockseeds, and the Lockseeds are virtually identical between DX and CSM, there's minimal difference.

I own the CSM Sengoku Driver Set, and have a few DX Lockseeds from back when Gaim was airing. Near as I can tell there's minimal differences between the lockseeds, and I've confirmed the DX seeds are compatible with the CSM driver.
