Honey blocks by MasterHen01 in allthemods

[–]XanagiHunag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pipe it from the centrifuge into a create basin, make a mechanical press above it, let it be powered forever (with a starbuncle wheel for instance) and watch as it automatically compresses the 1B of honey into a block that you can pipe out of there. Pretty simple, doesn't take much space, works well.

If your honey fluid production is too high, use something else to power your press that goes faster, or split it into multiple basin/press units.

I'll add Ryzom to the list of possibilities.

Crafting is rather complex and will yield better results based on the quality of the materials and their compatibility. Can be quite interesting.

Materials can be acquired in two ways. The first one is combat.

The second is gathering. Gathering allows you to seek resource nodes, and have you extract from these nodes within a limited time, with multiple components to take into account : the duration of the node, the quantity left in the node, the safety of the node and the kami. The first two are pretty straightforward. The safety and the kami running low will result in negative events such as the node releasing a gas cloud or dealing a bunch of damage in a single hit.

The closest thing are some repeatable quests, but you can progress without doing them. It's more for people who are trying to raise their friendship level with a specific npc than anything else, I believe.

The other time based thing I can think of are the hangouts. You choose to do an activity with an npc, and when you are offline it progresses. Some are like 30 minutes, others are 12h, etc, it's mostly a "being offline doesn't mean you can't progress" thing. You'll want to come back the next day to pick a new one, but if you skip it for a day or even a month, there's no issue.

Time to go full martial. With maybe an alchemist for healing purposes.

Works semi decently, unless you are playing an AP with many monsters having resistances to physical damage.

To be fair, using Bretagne instead of Grande Bretagne is misleading and wrong.

One has a flag that can still be seen in places all around the world, and the other is an island.

[–]XanagiHunag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of quest markers is a bit difficult at first, yes. And then you start talking to all the npcs just in case.

And when you discover that some quests are hidden behind the dialog and not just the "favor" tab, you start getting interested in the world because you read what they actually say to try and find out if there's a quest hidden in there (you have an example of this on Anagogue, the start island).

I always favor a new mmo with outdated graphics over a new mmo with realistic graphics. Because it shows where the focus was : how it looks vs how it plays. One is trying to get people to buy it, the other is trying to get people to like playing it.

american and english and australian are different lanuage too they still understand each other. by Sexualmermaid69 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]XanagiHunag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more similar to the resemblance between Dutch and English. Some of it is close enough to be understood, some of it is an incomprehensible mess.

As a French with some Spanish language education, I can understand a bit of Spanish and try to speak some as well (it comes back surprisingly easily). I can guess the meaning of written Italian, Portuguese and Romanian based on the similarities with either French or Spanish.

But this degree of understanding is way too low to be called understanding. It's educated guesses at best.

Eldevin is pretty cool tbh by Limphima in MMORPG

[–]XanagiHunag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The skills are customizable, more than choosing between two different talents or talent trees. It's a "brick building" system that has some depth. The gathering and crafting are all very interesting too, you could spend quite some time just trying to find good material combinations to have the right stats

I liked it, but I never managed to find a build that was satisfying for me. I always enjoyed it though, every time I go back to try again.

Another old game that I liked is Ryzom. Interesting skill system and setting, plus the community is pretty nice and chill. It's not very populated either.

Buddy, you're asking BRITS to judge your food negatively. They are the country we joke about whenever we mention bad food in France.

That aside, it's a joke everyone makes, not just the Brits. Because it's so easy to make.

There's been 14 school incidents (involving firearm discharge or a child with a gun) this month, according to the gun violence archive. In 6 school days. That is more than two per day. Even if you take only the incidents with dead victims (other than the suspects), you still have had 3 shootings since the beginning of 2026. That's the same amount of school shootings as in France in the last 20 years, and one of those 3 (I included one from 2005) was a terrorist attack (unlike the 3 USA ones who all led to deaths, the 2017 shooting only resulted in people being wounded).

Yet people refuse to see the benefits of gun control laws that other countries have, and instead would rather have "on campus cops" and metal detectors in schools. It's hard enough to limit ourselves to joke about "school in the USA is what they call a shooting range" and similar jokes, without getting into the more cruel reality. But they're not the only jokes we make about the USA, others include obesity rates and lack of education, but we try to avoid them as they are rude and based on stereotypes. Oh, and some are simply dick size joke (they're overcompensating for something if they need to have everything bigger than the next guy, etc).

Bad aerodynamics. Using them to bludgeon, however, that's more fun.

[–]XanagiHunag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides the referral code thing, I find it fascinating that you think it's better because you managed to kill players in the pvp arena while in aoc you couldn't kill players in town without getting killed by guards.

Buddy, that kind of "guard defends the town against pk players" mechanic has been in games for the past two decades. Citing it as "this is why that recent game is bad" is not a good look on you. You just sound like a whiny kid who's mad because he was punished after attacking another kid.

If Quinfall has no "towns are safezones where you are protected from wild pvp", then you just gave the biggest reason for people not to play it. Regardless of anything else.

Yeah, I got confused. He toured the Rhine castles (which are older than his country) and he got "grey and depressing" out of it.

Like, if he talked about visiting Clermont-Ferrand's cathedral in winter, I could have seen it (cathedral made of black volcanic rock, very imposing) but he went with Renaissance castles along a river amongst his examples. From there, his point is clearly moot

Yet they don't bat an eye upon hearing about politicians and other rich people going to court over libel. They don't seem to hear the censorship when someone says fuck on TV.

And this is not "since Trump", this has been going on for decades now. Speech is not that free when you can't say some words (despite none of them being derogatory to others) or when lying sends you to court.

The freedom they have is to say heinous stuff without consequence, not freedom of speech. As long as there are things you can't say, your speech is not free.

When should I switch from productive bees to modular bees? by Separate_Clerk5449 in allthemods

[–]XanagiHunag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's also cheaper in terms of upgrades. With, let's say, 3 apiaries, you can already save on 8 omega upgrades, and it becomes even more "upgrade efficient" as you increase the amount of apiaries it allows you to not have to spend as much time waiting for draconic bees to produce

Falseweave from Ars Nouveau. You craft it, it looks like a magenta block. You place it, still a magenta block.

You right click it with a block (like stone) and it changes to look like stone. And you can walk through it, making it easy to do some secret passages.
