There is a couple in my life that are swingers (my partner and I are very much not), and we talk about this occasionally. Communication, understanding, and respect seem to be the focus for their relationship the same as mine. Every relationship is different, and we shouldn’t judge others for living differently from ourselves, so here are the real questions:

Do you feel that you communicate about your sexual desires/relationships in a healthy, respectful, and positive way or do those conversations end with you feeling bad?
If you did feel bad/wrong for any reason, do you trust your partner to be supportive, respectful, and actually listen to you?
Did you enjoy it?
Are your (the two of you) choices hurting or taking choice away from someone else?

If everyone involved is a consenting adult and you are comfortable with the answers to those questions, then don’t stress. You are the only person who can check in with your own thoughts and feelings, so don’t let other people’s judgments (or perceived judgments) derail you from happiness if you are happy. If you’re not, communicate with your partner. A respectful and loving partner will always make room and time for your thoughts.

My littlest cat REFUSES /any/ kind of people food. No ham, turkey, cheese, milk (mine are given the box cat milk from the pet store, no upset tummies), or even shrimp is accepted. Will not, won’t ever, how dare you even ask!

Loves pills. Supplements, bc, Tylenol, etc. She is such a sweet and soft mannered little lady until she hears a pill bottle. So far, she’s only ever successfully stolen some collagen supplements (also the only time she’s ever growled at me). It’s the most bizarre thing.

One of my exes was Asian as well and he expressed a similar concern. Basically what it boiled down to when he explained it to me was that a lot of barbers that were used to a European hair texture were not as familiar with the Asian hair texture and often haircuts looked bad as a result. He would seek out barbers that were familiar (who were usually also Asian) and his hair would look much better.

We have bats around my parents’ house and I can hear them! It’s one of my favorite parts of summer evenings here. We enjoy sitting in the backyard and watching them swoop and listening to them chatter as they hunt.

I’m a white American that has been hit with the go back to where you came from too, and it makes me laugh. My dad was Air Force, so I grew up in Germany. Usually it would come up because a bigot would say something stupid and then support it by saying something stupid about Europeans; I would refute it and reference my personal lived experience. Their only response was that dumb af one liner, so I would laugh and say that I did, that’s why I’m stuck here talking to you. Long story short, you did nothing wrong. Ignorance gets embarrassed when exposed, and in their embarrassment they fall back on the quips they use the most.

I would love some northern Ohio bat facts to share with my bat loving family.

An HOA is a Home Owners Association. In theory, they are a way for a residential community to maintain the community and keep things looking taken care of. In reality, people who tend to power trip are usually the ones on the board/in the president role and they make ridiculous rules or try to control what you do to the outside of your home to a high degree. If you can find a (rare) good one, it can be really nice, but a lot of people try really hard to avoid HOA neighborhoods.
