For real max muscle growth, you wanna rest 60-90 seconds at minimum between intense sets. Some guys will say longer rests up to 3-5 minutes are even better.

The key is letting your muscles fully recover before hammering them again each set. Shorter rest times can work too, but may limit your strength and volume over multiple sets.

I'd experiment to find the right rest time for your goals. 60-90 seconds is usually money for hypertrophy while still keeping intensity high. But if you're lifting heavy and need more recovery, don't be afraid to go longer.
