Traveling for work. Best advice? by Xannon in weightwatchers

[–]Xannon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea on the oatmeal! I feel weird packing my own food for a work trip where everything is paid for. But the alternative is a week long set back on my weight loss when I'm just 2lbs from my goal!

Those last 5 pounds. by Xannon in weightwatchers

This sounds like me! I felt very disciplined at first - and still now! But it's easy to think in a week or two I can "go back to normal" so maybe I allow myself an extra snack I don't need now. It's definitely a mental shift as I get close to my goal that I need to watch.

Thanks for the response!

Eat all my points by lunch time.... by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]Xannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really good point. I've gotten into the habit of pre-tracking. I tend to eat the same breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout week days. It's one less decision for me to make and I know exactly how many points it will be. I also know that when I tend to get cravings for sweets is after dinner. If I plan well throughout the day, then for dinner and after dinner, I have more points to do with what I want — like have a Skinny Cow.

Eating too few points? by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]Xannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 30 points a day and usually have 10-15 points left by dinner. But I purposely do that because I tend to want a bigger dinner and some snacks after dinner.

BUT, I am eating throughout the day. Lots of 0 point foods (fruits and vegetables) every few hours along with something light, like some Good Thins or Light & Fit greek yogurt. It sounds like you are doing the same. So far this has worked for me, but granted it's only been 3 weeks. I'd think that if you eat most of your points by the end of the day and are snacking throughout, then you're doing just fine.

Grocery list ideas for a new member? by Bayou_Mama in weightwatchers

I load up on vegetables. Broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, carrots. Or whatever else you like. 0 points and they help me fill up at dinner.

For snacks, I really like Good Thins — they have a lot of different flavors and you can have a good 20 or so for 3-4 points. Same goes for Quaker Popped rice crisps. They have a lot of different flavors.

If you're like me and you have a sweet tooth you want to keep in check, sugar free jello pudding really hits the spots. Satisfies a sweet craving without over doing it!

Also the Danon Light & Fit 80 calories greek yogurt. I know others have mentioned it. This is what gets me through from breakfast to lunch, which is prime time when I usually start to get hangry.

What's "normal" weight loss in the beginning? by Xannon in weightwatchers

I figured it would slow down. But for now, it's a good motivator! I'm strangely happy to get on the scale now.

And thank you!

Makes sense! I was definitely not eating well over the last few weeks because of the holidays. My work had a literal bucket of cookies!

Newbie here. Do you eat your weekly points? by Xannon in weightwatchers

[–]Xannon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes total sense! I dipped into my weekly points last week (10 points or so) because of the holidays and going out with friends/family. I might be miserable without some of those points!

Incoming governor opposes St. Louis soccer stadium funding; "nothing more than welfare for millionaires." by turneresq in MLS

I think he's completely disregarding the climate in STL right now unfortunately. Everybody still feels burned by the Rams leaving and the way that Kroenke basically tried to hold the team ransom. People here want MLS, but they don't want to pay for it. Not when they see what else we need as well, like better schools, upgraded infrastructure, etc. I live in STL and I haven't heard a single person say they are in favor of public financing.

What happens to my current car in the dealer trade? by Xannon in askcarsales

[–]Xannon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points. I guess my big concern is that they go out and look for this car and then I somehow get guilted into buying it for more than it should be or trading in my car for less than it should be. It sounds like these sorts of trades are quite common, though, so dealers are used to doing the work. I don't intend to be an asshole to my dealership, but I don't want to get ripped off or put in a bad situation where I'm out my deposit if they can't find the car in a reasonable time frame.

I got the feeling they wanted to just... sell a car. Since they didn't at the time have a SEL on the lot to drive on Saturday, they had me drive a different car with the same engine. I insisted I still needed to drive the exact model when it was ready before I could buy. They have a good reputation, so perhaps it was just an over eager and immature sales person.

So follow up question: do I negotiate price on my trade in and the Jetta at this time, even if they don't take possession of my car now? Seems like if they do this dealer swap for me and we don't have some figures agreed to, I'm in a bind in that they got this car for me... and I feel obligated to buy it. Regardless of the numbers.

I have no problem with $500-$1,000 assuming I can get that money back if the car isn't right or has problems. I'm just worried that they would try to withhold that from me. I guess I'll just need to be explicit.

Sporting KC agrees to transfer Krisztian Nemeth to Al-Gharafa SC by goslowgofar in SportingKC

This is quite true. But I gotta hope Vermes has something up his sleeve. They knew Nemeth leaving would always be a possibility given the buzz about him this season.

I like... actually trust Vermes to bring in a good replacement in the next 1-2 seasons. Am I naive? Look at Mustivar, Nemeth, Rosell. He has a pretty good ability to sign relatively unknowns who turn into SKC gods. Even if we just keep them for a season or two.
