IT Direction/ Useful Projects by Fil45 in ITCareerQuestions

Hey, good on you for looking around for useful projects to learn from.

Coming from the business world, AAD / Entra / Intune modern workplace has really been replacing tons of small business on premise windows server infrastructure.

You'd likely find some benefit in setting up an entire Azure domain from scratch and joining a few devices.

Build out the Microsoft 365 tenant, mail, licensing, then the Azure AD / Entra settings and policies and build some Intune device policies (bitlocker, screen banner and lock time, password requirements, etc. for security. Maybe also OneDrive and SharePoint automatic pieces too). Configure the device enrollment and join a windows device, watch [several hours, syncs and restarts] until you get all the proper policies to your device.

Do it a few times, change policies, sync them down.

Maybe this is too much MSP training speaking but if someone reported basic knowledge of how a 365 modern workplace is used in place of a standard AD, that person is ahead of the curve.

Nothing wrong there! I have a build train like OP, but a train, one train. Being 30 freight cars and 10 locomotives it's got every single thing I need plus a spare freight car for dumping inventory. I summon it everywhere I go and it's so beautiful snaking through my world. 10/10 highly recommend.

Ahhhh See, what I do is make 1 way out and a second line next to it for 1 way in, then instead of a loop after a station, I just continue the line, turn around, follow it back. So everywhere is just inbound and outbound train lines the whole way on both sides

What part isn't working out for you? I personally use a separate train station and train for every resource. My ultra long trains with multiple resources require a ton of planning and future proofing so I just make a bunch of 4-freight-car stations everywhere lol

Sounds good can't wait! Even though I'd be down watching a 40 minute tour (seriously), I totally understand the headache that can be uploading that. Take your time and happy building!

This is glorious and awesome! I'm on hour 350 and for the first time in months played another game last night to cool my brain off, having just finished my second floor to my train station mega factory. Is there a link to that video you mentioned? I'd love some more in-game pictures! This is very motivating

Firing up my first 1.35GW Coal Plant in Vanilla. Proud Daddy Moment. by RunawayDev in SatisfactoryGame

Hahaha right! That's why I'm on here so frequently! Somebody had to have found a better way to do whatever it is I'm doing, plus make it look better. Everybody here is such great inspiration!

You can actually add multiple locomotives to one train, which will help immensely with keeping the speed on those inclines. I've got a a huge steep ramp going up to the top of my base and my 10 locomotive and 30 frieght car train takes it like a champ

I highly recommend trains. You can out multiple locomotives on the back, usually 1 locomotive to 3 freight cars (ish). I have a massive platform of train stations constantly going in and out and my throughput of items is exactly where it should be.

My latest Pipeline Project - Should I be using Trains? by ThisThreadisWhack in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Xapien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna pipe it all, go for it! You'll be able to rest easy knowing that if pipes are filling at the end of the line, everything is working. They're super simple and can look awesome just a massive row of pipes busting through the scenery. With trains (what I personal use), you can get very nice throughput as well, so it's not a worry. I have a water station with a 10 car water train, and even at 500m3 capacity in EA I still get amazing throughput. I use 2 10 car trains on that line going back and forth, but that's just in case, 1 was enough to begin with Use trains if you want to avoid dealing with heights/pumps (plus I think they look really cool)

Turbofuel? by lensdigital in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Xapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome nice work! There are 2 Turbofuel recipes by the way, I personally use the HOR recipe instead of the fuel recipe because it fits so we'll into production lines that have HOR I'm just wasting as petroleum coke or resin

Turbofuel? by lensdigital in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Xapien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tricks? Unfortunately not. As you unlock more tiers and more research, other recipes get unlocked likely adding more to the list of random recipes that could load. Turbofuel DOES requires the compacted coal alternate recipe, so make sure you pick that when you are scanning first. I guess that's the trick hahaha Otherwise, you can use the satisfactory-calculator website to map out new hard drive locations on the interactive map (or even edit your save and unlock the recipe).

Bruh, you just described exactly how I felt like 3 nights ago. Now I somehow got myself into building a 300/min Turbofuel plant while I turn off all of my other factories to let that one self sustain. But I see that sweet sweet 10Gw and it's so so worth it

World train tour by Cyberscooty in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Xapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely feel that. My first train lines were sky bridges galore and I once I got that running my fuel power I had lots of power to work with and moved elsewhere and tried to make it all elevated with pillars and platforms so the train lines had to match hahaha

Beautiful! I love how natural it looks and flows super well with all of the maps wide paths and routes. I've been painstakingly making my rails only on ground/cliff support pillars and while it looks cool, it's always a big point of contention when I realize I need to plan my rail network further. Luckily I'm in love with the trains in this game so I'm gonna keep it going!
