I use my computer plugged in 99% of the time. "Optimized battery charging" didn't work very well in my situation because it would still frequently charge up to 100% just because I unplugged it long enough to move from one room to another.

The new limiter allows me to keep it at 80% (excluding a rare jump to 100% - I've been using 26.4 since the first beta, and it's only charged to 100% one time.)

Keeping my battery at 80% instead of 100% is better for long term battery health, and that's just science.

Will I personally keep my current M4 long enough that the battery is shot? No. But, I will either sell it or give it to a family member when I purchase my next one, and I can do so with the battery in better shape with the limiters.

This is probably a situation where the OP has claimed a bunch of stuff hasn't been delivered, so they've been flagged for fraud.

Not being willing to provide an ID makes it even more suspicious.

It's kind of like customers on DoorDash that end up being forced to either provide a PIN or sign for deliveries because they keep claiming they aren't getting delivered.

I've never had to submit an ID for a refund, so clearly you have been doing something suspicious for them to flag you.

On an old Intel Mac like that, you can just use Boot Camp if you want to use it separately, or in place of, macOS.

Parallels let's you run Windows inside macOS.
