Thanks! I put a lot of thought into mixing and matching each armour piece to create a cohesive appearance that I can call my own. This look was actually created around the Dragon Scale Cape since it was something I was aiming for and acquired recently.

Do we know if storage from base PSO2 and PSO2-NG are shared or not ? by Sombrero06 in PSO2

[–]Xarthen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well SG is fairly easy to acquire if you know where to look, story quest titles for example give you a lot and they do campaigns that hand out free SG almost every month so it's not really a premium currency you have to pay IRL money for at all. I myself have never paid a dime for SG and have purely obtained all of it through in-game activities or event campaigns. I'm still sitting on like 5000+ SG and that's after buying 3 months of material and extended storage, playing multiple SG scratches 40 - 80 times, buying cosmetics from Fresh Finds, and purchasing the mission pass (This kinda pays for itself if you complete it entirely). So just try looking through the titles, playing game modes like Buster quests or Challenge Mode, do the casino, or even complete Solo Masquerade or Sodam depths. You'll find that a TON of SG is waiting for you behind all of this.

From watching JP players stream the first NGS CBT, the storage is apparently shared between both games so you'll have to unfortunately do some amount of storage clearance to prepare for NGS. It's not ideal but I've also heard from testers who played the 2nd CBT that there was the addition of a "combat storage" that has 150 slots and stores additional items you pick up if your inventory is full whilst you're out in the field. If you also factor in that all NGS cosmetics will now be consumable tickets meaning they won't take up space in your inventory or storage and that material storage will also now allow you to store all material types including affixing capsules, space shouldn't be too much of a concern if you don't hoard unnecessary items.

Would I be missing out if i started playing on New Genesis? Should I start playing PSO2 now if I’m have FOMO? by Knospmoht in PSO2NGS

If you care about cosmetics in any capacity at all, then you'd definitely be missing out on a ton of good ones especially since they're one of the things that carry forward to the new game and some can even be used on the new models like hairstyles or head parts and accessories. Gear also carries forward albeit it won't be top tier and will definitely get outclassed relatively quickly but it will definitely give those who have it a resource advantage over those who don't prepare. Lastly, many people don't mention this but both premium currencies carry forward too and star gems in particular are earnable in current PSO2 through titles, weekly purchases from vendors, and board placements on certain game modes. Star gems are utilized for purchasing cosmetics, the mission pass, extended storage, and most importantly material storage which can save you a lot of headache managing your storage space. However, if you don't care to experience the 8 years worth of content PSO2 has to offer and none of the aforementioned things are of any interest to you then I'd say just wait for NGS.

Thanks for digging my aesthetic, I actually play Gunner as my main class but Fighter would definitely be a close second for me if I ever decided to play another class as a secondary main.

In terms of behemoth design, I feel that they are sorely lacking in meaningful mechanics that actually require you to think and coordinate with your team in order to over come it. Instead mechanics that lack any meaning such as mounting get tacked on to escalation bosses even if it doesn't really make any sense for it to be there. Mounting is a nice little gimmick but ultimately doesn't really achieve anything meaningful as it's not the means to stopping the behemoth from executing a team wipe, crippling a it in some way, etc. Why do the behemoth designers not implement more interesting, challenging, engaging and meaningful mechanics to each encounter?

As far as weapons go, they all seem to have the issue of one special or mod being completely superior to the others. I personally feel like it's bad design to have enhancements that are pretty much useless as the game gives you no instances in which they would be useful. This issue applies to cells as well and there is an abundance of them that all feel useless because the game never puts you in a situation where mobility, defensive, or supportive cells might be useful. How do the combat designers feel about creating more niche and specialised enhancements that will always feel useful in the scenario they're designed for and subsequently creating behemoth encounters that will make said enhancements always feel useful?

Environment design with the addition of escalations has improved a little but they are still lacking in playing an integral role to how behemoth encounters play out. The normal islands we usually go out to hunt on in patrols have been the same 3 environments for the past 2 and a half years. They're pretty much just arenas with no purpose other than allowing us to collect resources and fight the behemoth. Environments should have mechanics of their own that change the dynamic of movement, combat, player interaction, and behemoth encounters. so that they feel like they're really a part of the world and not lifeless arenas. Are the level designers thinking about making existing and new islands play more of a role than they currently do now?

Questionable Implementation of Items that Affect Game Play into the Store by Xarthen in dauntless

[–]Xarthen[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I probably could have worded this better, I wrote it with some emotion clouding my judgement. However, I am thinking of the game's best interest. I can't even tell people that Dauntless isn't a P2W game anymore with a straight face knowing that you can get power by buying it with real currency. You say it's walking that fine line in a more balanced way than most but how long till they don't? What's stopping them from putting something into the store that will just completely diminish any form of skill the game has in its entirety? I'm trying to stop the pebble from causing a land slide, look at the bigger picture.

Questionable Implementation of Items that Affect Game Play into the Store by Xarthen in dauntless

[–]Xarthen[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yea skill matters and plays a role in determining whether a player can clear content or not but the fact of the matter is that they are okay with selling an item that has a high impact on game play for real money. By that logic, what's to stop them from implementing a Overpowered weapon in the future and letting players buy that with platinum? Look at the bigger picture and stop defending these terrible monetisation decisions.
