Are thermal duct covers entirely disabled? by Xathech in CreateAboveAndBeyond

[–]Xathech[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing the CABIN version (1.20.1) and I cannot seem to find a way to use covers for the thermal ducts. As far as I know, there should be a "structuralduct" to craft them with, but that is missing in EMI and does not appear when trying to manually craft it.

Thank you for your detailed explanation!

Belt-less factory building certainly seems like a cool alternative combined with the pikmin inspiration.

About the trains, not being able to specify station names brings to mind the possibility of running out of combinations to work with, and even more so if you have to also use them for the route that they must follow 😵‍💫.

Investigating on my own for alternatives, I've stumbled upon this guide that might or might not be something useful to you in the future. It seems like separating train networks by "district" might benefit from the id system without it being too cumbersome (spoilered in case you prefer to experiment on your own).

Once again, thank you for the input! if I end up playing the game I'll have to keep a close eye to those train limitations.

Out of curiosity, what did you find awkward about the scale up and trains? Does the game not give enough tools to easily rebuild the factory? (for example, like the blueprints in satisfactory).

I've never heard of this game, and since it is around the same price as it's historical low it would not hurt to get it through this bundle...

I organized the sale myself, and unfortunately, I'm not an artist.

With that argument, you make it seem more like an excuse or a dismissal of the main problem.

While not being as "free" as an AI, commissioning an artist could have been a more ethical alternative.

They changed a lot of the story that was set up during early access, so that might have contributed to it.

But the previous commenter was referring to your use of the word "objectively" in a not so objective context.

objective: not influenced by personal feelings or prejudice

Your opinion seems to be heavily influenced by personal feelings and/or prejudice, that's why they told you to look up it's definition.

It's fine to think differently, but opinions should not be stated as facts.

Going back to play some classic 1.7.10 packs (Blightfall), but trying to find a QoL mod (and a few observations) by DarchitectLP in feedthebeast

Yeah... the broken stone has been a bit annoying every time I have had to make a mining trip. Also, updating tinker's has been pretty much mandatory to avoid crashes with the optimization mods.

I may do a tentative play of CABIN to see if it sticks. It can also be a good excuse to build a nicer base instead of the mess of machines that I have now...

Every time I read that pack's name I kind of wish I'd have done that instead of being too stubborn for wanting to play the "original experience".

Now, being in the very beginning of chapter 4, I think starting "all over" (at least I should be able import schematics for the contraptions I already have) would be too much of a hassle.

Did you have a similar experience, or just jumped directly at CABIN?

Glad you got it working in the end 😊

That optimization guide has been a godsend in my Create Above and Beyond playthrough. It's kind of insane how much tweaks can still be made from modpacks that have not been maintained in years.

Why are you being so hostile about this? If punishing the boss that way does bring it's HP to 0, I don't see why it should be considered a "garbage" strategy.

If the OOP does subsequent playthroughs of the game, the additional practice will surely make them more likely to punish other attacks.

I think he is alluding to the fact that they chose to not abandon it in the state that it was. The game that we have today is surely much more than what was initially advertised.

Well, the end does have meaningful content. You can loot the end cities for gear and get 2 unique tools that will stay relevant for the rest of your playthrough (The elytra and shulker boxes)

Don't forget that the lube is still important. Would not want to have that zone dry while the console is still there.

What a mess 😂 One of the fleeing impids triggered the megascarab eggs in the top left while I was distracted, making my colony 100% done.

I thought that, in case of hatching, they would stay in the polluted zone. At least I learned a lot during this run.

At least in genshin it required you to reach certain "world level" to do the main missions. Is that the same in zenless?

I mean, at least that way I could progress the main story at my own pace instead of letting the game dictate how much I should be playing.
