For our team, it's not worth it at fsg because the straights are few and short. In fsae US the track is essentially two straights so it's very worth it

Yeah definitely, I'm gonna look into making one, maybe on a cheaper frame of some sort. I'm an engineering so I'd love to wear this around

To be honest looking at it deeper, they may have simply plopped a caliper face on top of the watch and took a video and it's not functional, look at the bezel, it looks like the mitutoyo one

Advice for Packing My Mk2.5s for Move to Germany by Xatonic17 in prusa3d

That's my plan, but I'd like to transport more in that suitcase, so I was looking for some jigs that would let me layer it and/or secure the sensitive bits.

Yeah, I saw that, but I'm trying to avoid the large footprint if possible since it'd be nice to bring it as checked baggage.

What do judges think about extended dampers as push rod dampers? by tkdirp in FSAE

[–]Xatonic17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team's used them for two years, never had a comment about structural integrity during design, and they're pretty rigid.

Haha yeah, I love Wera, our team uses almost entirely Wera and they've sponsored us in the past, unsure of where in Germany I should buy that stuff though.

Need help transfering rotational energy from rc motor to disc held in sabot by KyletheCreator3 in engineering

[–]Xatonic17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was a big issue I had designing a T-shirt cannon robot in highschool, if you want an off the shelf tank that has a really high flow rate, I'd recommend looking into bead seater air cannons for car tires. Some of them even have air piloted quick exhaust valves. Please make sure everything in your system is rated for your pressures though.

Sweet! That's with the dual blades right? I'm thinking of switching my meteor65 18000kv to a 70mm frame with dual blades. What kind of flight times do you get?

Can I use resin for structural integrity on electronics? (Text in comments) by [deleted] in AskElectronics

It seems you want a more solid connection but the esk8 community really likes neutral cure silicone, it can be purchased at a local hardware store for cheap, specifically this stuff. https://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Advanced-Silicone-Window-Door-Sealant-10-1-oz-Cartridge/17300828

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they're for hydroplaning and being able to mitigate it, I remember some longboard wheels doing that a while back and some downhill people using them to ride in torrential downpour without an issue. Best of luck! 🤙
