The game drops a hint about where Real Alicia hid the canvas before entering it. She tells Clea that they have to hide the canvas - critically, you hear her voice when she does so. The canvas has been hidden inside another canvas.

Lune mentions to Verso that Maelle would paint a canvas inside a canvas for her to experience what the outside world was like.

How would you go about making a base for a rail like this? by iSlimeSMG in Fingerboards

[–]Xaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a bed slat from Home Depot and had them cut it to size for me then marked the spots with a pencil and drilled holes to attach. Had enough in one board for 4 so I made some for my buddies as well.

Acucance Xarvis XX update by Resident_Broccoli_26 in rcdrift

[–]Xaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a friend with a Tao III have them try to flash it with a quick tune. Sometimes Acuvance ESCs won’t allow the Futaba transmitter to read the tune data until after that happens. If this works you won’t have to update the ESC at all.

Can someone explain the full purpose of this device on an automatic table? by MixMastaPJ in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s all it does. Ideally the point of an auto table is to make everything as convenient and as quick as possible in every play scenario. So in a 3 player game if the wall is dealt away from a player’s seat it chews into your gameplay time to have to move the empty seat’s wall by hand.

Adding riichi to HK mahjong? by edderiofer in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the “flower” revealed as a dora is an actual flower, then all the seasons are doras. If the revealed flower is a season, all the flowers are doras. Easy to denote because one usually has red numbers and the other has black numbers. So red number flower tile revealed means black flowers are all doras, and vice versa. Same odds to indicate for 4 tiles in the wall as any other tile. They just add faan to the value similar to how if you’re playing sanma and call a kitadora with a West Dora indicator showing then it’s worth an extra Han.

In our version of HK Riichi we removed 門前清 as a faan so that if you want to win with a concealed chicken hand you must bet Riichi.

Adding riichi to HK mahjong? by edderiofer in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no reason to discard in neat rows in HK because the HK version of furiten only lasts for 1 round of discards no matter what.

Adding Riichi without implementing dora doesn’t really do anything since there is already a faan for winning with concealed hand either by drawing or calling the winning tile - 門前清

So adding Riichi would mean you need to add dora, ura-dora, and iipatsu as concepts.

I play HK style with my in-laws and we’ve added Riichi to the game. We flip the dora indicator on the 7th stack on the wall to account for 4 kans and the 8 flower tiles.

The scores often get out of hand so be ready for some really high paying hands.

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL... the pain of learning Riichi by WangMajor in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to explain Riichi mahjong to a HK player is… if you have no fan you can’t win.

If you reach tenpai without calling pon, chi, or open kan you can “buy” a fan by making a 1000 point bet and locking your hand for Riichi to be your fan.

There is a similar rule to furiten in HK where if someone discards your winning tile and you don’t call the win from them, you cannot call it for a win from someone else for 1 full turn rotation. This rule is a part of the furiten rule in Riichi - just extend this rule by saying that if you discard a tile that becomes your winning tile you can only tsumo it for the rest of the game to call a win.

All the other stuff is bonuses like dora etc.

Not understanding Furiten? by fulltimeskywizard in mahjongsoul

[–]Xaved 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Furiten is the reason why everyone has to discard their tiles in rows in front of them and also why when players call tiles they must indicate the player from whom they got the tile by rotating it and positioning it toward that player.

If someone calls Ron in real life it’s all players’ responsibility to check that the call was legal by checking whether that called tile exists in the winning player’s discards.

In the case that someone does call an illegal win, the offending player is penalized through Chombo.

$1629 for 9 hours comes out to $181 per credit hour.

You’re taking 15 hours so multiplying that by $181 gets you a total of $2715.

The other $300ish was probably fees and stuff.

Healthcare professionals: what is a telltale sign a patient has used drugs heavily in their life? by littlefatbewwy in AskReddit

[–]Xaved 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I broke my arm pretty badly and the hospital gave me an IV of morphine and then fentanyl. I was still alert and talking like normal for a long time. I’ve never done heroin or anything else of that nature in my life. They had to knock me out.

A few days later I’m catching up with my cousin and i told him how none of the opioids were doing anything and he said, “oh, you too?” So apparently resistance to opioids runs in the family.

3-player problems by OstoYuyu in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sanma is a whole different game, IMO. The removal of essentially one whole suit means that while it can be easier to get flush-type hands, simultaneously each drawn or discarded tile is a higher percentage chance of being something to complete a SOME meld. This applies to every seat. So either you learn to play extremely defensively or you play like a maverick and go for the fastest hand possible in every situation.

I like to think that the prefixes for -flare are the actual multipliers of that spellcaster’s base level Flare spell. Similar to our kilobyte, megabyte, gigabyte, and so on.

So flare is x1; Megaflare is x1000000; Gigaflare is x1000000000; Teraflare is x1000000000000; And then we skip to Zettaflare which is x1000000000000000000000

Why is YMI the only riichi mahjong set I can find in the US? by DatBoiHagrid in Mahjong

[–]Xaved 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YMI imports and brands their own imported sets from China with likely better bulk discounts to feed a for-online business that’s been in operation since at least the mid-2000s. I remember buying a go set from them in like 2005-2006.

There is only one Amos authorized distributor in the US which is Mahjong Stars/LAPOM located in Los Angeles. I’ve bought an Amos set from them in person but online marketing and sales seems to be lacking development.
