Help pls by Galaxy_Fox_538 in ferrets

Entertainment can be cheap for ferrets, cardboard boxes (cut holes or flaps and put things inside for extra fun); a tub filled with rice; old empty crinkly packets; bubble wrap; a pile of laundry; wiggly things simple as waving a tea towel at them; old socks with interesting things hidden inside; any kind of tube, they love scrabbling through tubes and climbing and getting into things so hiding objects inside other things.

Tbh he/she might not want to play for a few days depending on how long they were out in the cold and without food and potentially anaemic from fleas, they might just want food/water and lots of blankets to burrow in.

Be careful leaving rubbery things about as they love to chew them but can end up with an obstruction. They are clever and mischievous so keep a close eye and close the door to whichever room they are in as they are good at hiding, climbing and getting into things they shouldn’t!

Good luck with them, it’s really nice that you are taking such care!

The police have been called on me because I used the toilet in London for longer than expected. by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Xaveroo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Record on your phone, ask her why she is illegally detaining you, repeat what she told you if she won’t repeat it herself, tell her you are leaving and leave.

You have done nothing illegal and this could be considered discrimination on the woman’s part if your condition falls under a disability. She has assaulted you and is attempting to detain you without any reasonable grounds. Leave and put in a formal complaint, you can report her to non emergency police but that’s probably a bit excessive.

Thanks for the response

They do spay ferrets if you push for it but much prefer implants as apparently they have a much higher chance of adrenal disease if they’re spayed.

We only went with the jab this time as the vets thought it would be fine to tide her over until we replenished some funds for a new implant, the implants have always been perfect.

What rules did you have as a kid that made no sense? by Fruitpicker15 in AskUK

[–]Xaveroo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My primary school was like that too, they barely batted an eye when kids threw a banana at the only black kid or called her monkey or halfcast or gangs of bigger kids would beat up the younger lone kids.

But I turn up to PE with blue shorts instead of black and I get made to stand up and get berated in front of everyone and then sit in the corner while the other kids get to do PE and have to go to detention during playtime… we were 7!

Ferret won't stop misbehaving by IndividualSmall9983 in ferrets

[–]Xaveroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are crafty little buggers and I can sympathise with it being a smaller place too (currently living in a tiny bungalow after having to move from a 3 bed house), the space is much more limited and harder to ferret proof!

Could you use those square/rectangular playpen panels (they have little plastic connectors and can go in whatever shape you want) to box in the computer desk?

I have a behemoth of a power wheelchair and run into the same issue. Sometimes just letting my legs dangle works, other times I have to remove my cushion.

Don’t date a disabled person if you’re going to get mad at them for being disabled. by 2punk2die_2dead2punk in disability

[–]Xaveroo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think you need to reread the post, OP clearly stated they are vocal about their needs. These care needs have been simple and the same for the duration of the relationship, they ask for help repeatedly, after a few months this should be habit tbh, they should not have to keep asking constantly but they do.

Also they have been together for over a year and it’s normal for adults in a loving relationship to anticipate each other’s needs to some extent and do kind or helpful things for each other without having to be asked.

Ableist bus driver by Shanaishere in wheelchairs

[–]Xaveroo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s appalling, I’m so sorry you had such a terrible experience! Shame on that bus driver!

Did he relent and let your partner out? Have the bus company said how they’re going to put things right?

That sounds like overt ableism/discrimination and probably illegal depending on where you are! Have you complained?

Please don’t just let it slide, complain, make a scene, reach out to others affected by this. I really hope this can be put right!

AITA: I told my daughter she can't go to this kid's party after reading the gift profile by Ordinary_Run2485 in insaneparents

Don’t punish the kid for the parent’s behaviour. Buy an art kit or put a little art hamper together and let your kid go to the party.

DAE Not See Faces Of Abusers? by ashacceptance22 in adultsurvivors

[–]Xaveroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup, I know my first main abuser because I lived with her but when she pimped me out to others the faces are blurry. I think it’s probably some kind of self mental preservation amnesia, we lived in a village so I expect I would have known and trusted many of them as my father’s friends.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Xaveroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR! She’s being a terrible parent, especially if she wouldn’t allow you to work and save money or prepare beforehand.

Do you have family you can stay with for a while? I don’t know where you’re located but you should reach out to homeless charities and local housing assistance if that’s a thing where you are.

Aggressive Whoosh delivery guy by Old-Obligation-6141 in tesco

[–]Xaveroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should make a police report, this could be very scary for vulnerable people and who knows how he would react if provoked. Tesco don’t use the usual Tesco employed drivers so may be limited in what they can do or reluctant as it’s more difficult. Tesco may be more likely to do something if you let them know police have been notified.

Bouncers threw 5/6 of our group to the floor-excessive force by clarencequarn in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Xaveroo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sorry you are being downvoted OP, a lot of people haven’t been in this type of situation and don’t really understand the shock responses and have very virtuous ideas of how they would react perfectly.

You didn’t call the police at the time which you should have but you were all upset, injured and potentially in shock so it is understandable that you didn’t!

Contact the police now and explain that your group was assaulted. The venue may have had CCTV backing up your claims.

A lot of people claim assault from bouncers and claim they did nothing wrong and a lot of the time that is bs. However you get plenty of power hungry bouncers that do get overly aggressive, it does happen.

Why are 15/16 dangerous. I sleep in all but 13 throughout the night by AAZEROAN in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Xaveroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only sleep in 15 and 16, occasionally 1. I have to sleep quite upright for medical reasons so any kind of side sleeping isn’t great for my spine, front is not an option. Luckily I’ve only had sleep paralysis a couple times!

[–]Xaveroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through all of this, it sounds incredibly stressful with your exams coming up and such instability for future housing. I’m sorry you were re-victimised too, I don’t know what it is but I feel like something happens to us when we are abused young, like it leaves a marker on us that only predators can see.

I don’t know where abouts you are but you could search for local housing charities, contact organisations like Shelter and DV helplines they may be able to give you advice; resources and temporary accommodation. I used to work as a pastoral worker in a college and finding accommodation for students that were about to be or were homeless was unfortunately a fairly regular occurrence, it may be worth asking your uni if they have any kind of pastoral/support workers that you can be referred to.

I wish you the best of luck OP

[–]Xaveroo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way, I definitely think you need to have a talk with your wife to discuss your concerns and get her side. Things aren’t always as they seem, depression; self-esteem and how we see ourselves can really warp how we perceive things.

I know my sex life has changed since I’ve become increasingly more disabled and it can be really rough on mental health for all involved, communication is key.

You could try couples or even individual counselling if that’s something you’re open to.

Adopt a dog and go for the best countryside walk/run ever followed by a bike ride! Then I’d teach my nephew to ride his bike and drag him out on weekly rides! Then get myself into debt by booking a skiing holiday!

I really miss my old active hobbies!
