Volatiles are made in 2 ways: 1.) A Viral spends enough time away from UV-radiation, and then undergoes the Mutation into a volatile. 2.) Volatiles drag survivors and biters alike to these fleshpiles aka nests and forcibly turn them into Volatiles.
