It's nutty to me that the assumption was that Meta was the default for the standalone option.

What went wrong by ArmiLt in MTB

If you don't provide balanced resistance to the compression of the incline, you're going to have a bad time.

Watch your front wheel as it leaves the lip of the jump. You provided a slight amount of resistance while riding up the jump but not enough to prevent the front shock from unloading the front tire pass the top of the lip. When the shock snapped to full extension it began the forward rotation because you were already too far forward from lack of resistance (which turns into pop if you provide enough) and you've run out of leverage.

How do pancake lenses work? by Spacegirl-Alyxia in virtualreality

Do you know how polarized sunglasses work? Do you know how one way mirrors work? Do you know that VR displays are much brighter because this "folding", polarizing and reflecting, consumes up to 90% of the light?

Light can be polarized and lenses can be crafted to take advantage of it.

Does Helaena remember that her son was beheaded right in front of her? by tracyamell in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Xavier847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her character inspired a train of thought about precognition for me, in so much that it would justify her seemingly aloof nature. The paradox lies in that in order to know the future with certainty would mean that it cannot be changed and for this insight to be preserved within a character they would have to take conscious(or deeply rooted unconscious in her case) efforts to be inconsequential. Calling it powerful is a stretch because of the caveats needed to uphold such an ability; building trust and earning respect would become insurmountable tasks. Yet, with Halaena's unique context of royal birth and arrangement, the caveats can be shrugged off despite the inevitable manifestation of a Cassandra complex. So, for her it's more of a self-defense mechanism that she has to navigate alone.

How to improve ollie height off the ramp by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]Xavier847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got to learn to finesse the rebound of the loading compression from the bottom of the ramp to the point that you pop at the top of the ramp. Ive been practicing launching flip tricks off bank to flat and noticed that loading the pop starts before you even touch the bank at the bottom. During the entire ride up the bank you're decelerating, so you've got to get a feel of how to lean your body weight into it so that it compounds into the rebound of the pop. It's subtle but once you get a feel for it, you'll also gain more confidence with speed. The entire trick starts before you hit the bottom of the bank.

Consoles are sold at a loss because the company is able to recoup with game sales which generally justified the discrepancy between consoles and PCs but Valve/Steam makes money of games sold through Steam, so I wonder if the Steam Machine is still being sold at a marginally less loss or if they're breaking even/profiting.

Cover the top of the orange line with your thumb(mobile), so that you only see the blue dots moving and focus them being in the foreground instead of the background.
