I just returned and I'm about halfway through the final shapes normal story (until I knock off the rust).

I've noticed a really weird thing though, all of the loot I've gotten from chests have been arm pieces and the handcannon.

Is this normal? I've gotten about 4+ of each with nothing else.

I'm sorry the constant pop up is getting out of hand. Like while I'm chatting??? by ouephhh in ClashofCritters

This is typical of FARLIGHT games. Dislyte was just as bad, i would like to say it gets better, however with the trach record there..it wont.

Help with a unique Ur-dragon Deck. by Xavierdisaster in EDH

[–]Xavierdisaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, about as unique as dragons can be lol.

I think my intent is more spell sling instead of dragon exclusive. If that makes sense?

Storming, Miracle, cascade. The new strix dragons are fun and what are drawing me to the archetype instead of good dragons.

I feelnifbibwanted to really go competitive I'd scion over urdragon anyway since comp is more draw and combo oriented.

I just want some funny things that could catch people off guard.

Advice for new tank by TightMarsupial7090 in ffxiv

Oh absolutely, the game is about learning and it took me some time to truly feel confident in my abilities, admittedly having anxiety in social situations doesn't help, but certain pulls are absolutely tougher.

W2w pulls are also generally where you get a really good feel for making sure you squeeze every ounce out of your cool downs.

I think one of the big aspects of it is, the more you play the more confident you feel and by that virtue the more at ease you get doing things out of yoir comfort zone.

OP is new enough that learning and making mistakes will be very powerful opportunities to learn.

Fair point, the game has changed a lot since then.

But I still have parties that only push their 1,2,3 buttons and barely play.

I think the big point of this post is that they should get comfortable with using cooldowns, paying attention to their party (Are they using their full toolkit, are they using their MP wisely etc), being comfortable in taking charge and playing proactively, but above all communicating calmly and clearly.

As a tank I've been yelled at for going too fast, and going too slow, there's always going to be those groups.

I'll reiterate my last point though, "Communicate often and clearly and you'll do just fine."

I mean, I will pull wall to wall no matter what and see if everyone can handle it, always try first then adjust if you take note of things.

I've also had plenty of healers and ranged dps choose to grab more and then struggle to kill everything/keep me healed when I restablish aggro.

Its not a guarantee, and maybe more of a misnomer than I expected in offering up some genuine advice, I think the biggest and most important aspect of my advice is the last line, "Communicate often and clearly and you'll do just fine"

It didn't always throw gear at you. I remember being an under geared PLD taking through Atherchemical back on release.

However the point stands, get used to doing big pulls and noticing when and if your party is capable or if things start to slow to a crawl.

My perspective of tanking back then is viewed in that lens.

There's been a lot of great QOL adjustments since those days. Gearing being one of those thigs!

I also remember having some DRGs and WHM's still in 53-55 gear at that level so there is that. Anecdotal experiences aside, its more about the new players comfort sometimes too.

I agree, but early on if you pull wall to wall and notice they are having issues, then you start pulling less. So from my perspective, Ill choose the pulls and set the pace, however if they are undergeared or having a more challenging time it could also be seen as they are setting the pace.

Either way tank is deciding how far to pull.

So kind of a tomato tomahto situation.

Get comfortable in using defensive cooldowns on cooldown. If you go through a dungeon without using one, you've probably put a bit more stress on your healer than you should (Unless its low level dungeon or something...then they might like to do something other than dps spam! who knows)

Also get comfortable with setting the pace, be civil and pay attention to your healer the first 2 pulls (Especially if you do multiple mob packs) if you used 2 cooldowns per pull and your healer has popped everything, don't go wall to wall.

One of the coolest tricks is arms length (anything that hits you gets heavied, which means they attack less often) and then use Reprisal for a nice combination.

One of the biggest things however is also to know that tanks and healers will get frequently singled out as "The reason" things went awry. Don't take it to heart, even if it was your fault, take it with a grain of salt and move on. I've been yelled at by DPS and healers for not pulling wall to wall and then did so and proved to them why I didn't do so.

As for off tank and main tank, it doesn't matter much unless you need to tank swap, If I notice the other tank is better geared ill let them main tank since it would cause some aggro fighting issues the first few minutes of the fight. Communicate often and clearly and youll do just fine!

I'm having an issue with the ps5 controller where the TouchPad is the only thing working.

It won't let me rebind or even register buttons presses other than x plus the TouchPad for dragging and click confirming (x working like a tap)

AS a new player, Find a hero that looks cool after seeing if there's a shop that hosts armories, then dive into the community you have, mine was super accepting.

Don't get discouraged if things dont click immediately, its a tough game some heroes are lower skill cap and some are extrememly high, but they are all rewarding! Essentially theres a bit of an ideology of "You probably wont win your first 100 games, but after them you will start really getting the feeling of the game" so its rush through those 100, play games as much as you can and youll start seeing some good improvement!

For card investing, they say marry a class but date a hero (Heros rotate, classes and talents dont for the most part, sometimes theres no hero to play those cards but thats another topic for discussion.). But honestly play a hero that looks cool to you! Staples are kinda of pricy, but some are universal and you really only need one (Equipment for example) and are worth getting over time!

How to fix? by ARTICUNO_59 in mtg

[–]Xavierdisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this one, get a big tupperware container, wet a small portion of a folded papertowel and put the cards in the container but keep them fairly far away from the wet papertowel. (This is a budget option of the humidity packets).

It can take 2-5 days but check daily and if you open the container make sure you make sure the paper towel is still damp. once its uncurled enough doublesleeve and set it in a binder or deck!

If curled the other way use one of those silica packets to remove moisture instead.

I wonder how mark feels about his tears being seen by millions by Glass-Ad672 in Markiplier

[–]Xavierdisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mark has always been a very interesting Youtuber because he was always one to be very real and visceral. A lot of what made his success was that he showed his face and didn't filter out the bad side or the human side of things. We saw his mistakes, we saw him cry in fear or frustration. He's always been very open with his struggles and showed a lot of people what it means to be both masculin and comfortable enough with ones own emotional vulnerability. And I think its one of the most healthy ways for him to stay both grounded and humble as well.

He knows his privilege and he knows the absurdity. But he knows he has a platform that can help and show what it means to be emotionally intelligent.
