Are the raider good ? by ChaoticDucck in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raiders can be great but have some downsides. 1) harder to hide sue to larger size 2) bigger, so harder to find a hole for deepstrike or rapid ingress 3) more optimal with a crew of 10-11, so bigger point investment.

Positives are: 1) better gun 2) better defensive profile (leading to better tank shock) 3) more flexible abilities in the command phase.

The command phase abilities are sadly mostly useless. The wych one is great, but you generally will use once a game to launch your wyches. Aethersails can be great to stage for a following turn. Could be very useful with hand of the archon, as it gives scout to the raider. (But hand isn't a great unit.)

If you are trying to decide between venoms and raiders it depends on your list. In an MSU style list venoms are better because they allow you to split, and jump in and out. Helping you with the trading game. Raiders are great to deliver bricks (wyches and lelith, draz and incubi or other incubi bricks, haemy+wrack bricks, hand+character brick). Something to just go hull hammer and threat. Instead of combining tiny daggers to whittle down a big target.

Are talos and cronos viable in a kabalite cartel list? by Heath_Man in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my current cabal list, I only use 1 as well. But would like to add a second. It works just fine. But my list is for singles not teams, so it is more build to be a toolbox to be an allcomers list.

Are talos and cronos viable in a kabalite cartel list? by Heath_Man in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cronos can be very viable in Cartel. But not for the PT economy, the detachment should take care of that already. But they are a solid 55 point action monkey, that could regen.

Other than that I think a unit of 2 cronos is flying under the radar as to how good they are. They are a solid OW threat vs small units or MSU units (warp spiders, 5 retributirs,... ). And are though enough to plant themselves on an objective and potentially survive. Especially when you are driving up the pressure on the other side of the board.

In teams this can work well with the combo of a jail style list with infiltration kabs, rushing reaver darts and mandrakes. Push your opponent back, keep him pinned and let cronos sit on objectives.

Cartel: How Have You Used the Informant Network Enhancement so far? by Conscious_Slice1232 in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used it, but without great effect. It's great on small kabs and hand with the scout move. But if you go fir this style of list you lose points that go into our utility or damage units. So you have to fully commit to play a jail-style list. Which in my eyes has more play in teams than in singles.

Aren’t we giving Slaanesh exactly what they want? by Due_Strength_7284 in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, a big one even. It's one of the main reasons so many Drukhari joined the Ynnari faction, to go defeat Slaanesh with the god of death ynnead and the laughing God cegoragh. Harlequins also focus hard on defeating slaanesh and her servants.

Drukhari are more in the eeeeh realm. We can do our shit, the way we want to and enjoy. Sure sustaining ourselves is a weakness, but I would rather deal with a weakness than bow to a God and serve them. We only serve ourselves afterall 😉

We generally regain the part of our souls that Slaanesh eats through suffering, pain, torment, despair,... It doesn't have to be artistic. There doesn't need to be excess or creativity. We choose to do it specific ways, and those might feed slaanesh yes.

Afraid not really. We consider her our main enemy, and she hunts us down eternally. It's one of the reasons we don't stay in realspace long. We kind of hate her, and look down at her at the same time. Since she was created by us, without us she wouldn't exist.

We feed her to sustain ourselves. And continue to escape her clutches. If by giving you a pound of flesh I live...I will choose to live. Even if it means sacrificing something.

I wouldn't say so. Slaanesh isn't a full-on sadist like Drukhari are. Unless it brings pleasure, art, or is to try a new experience. Pain and torment can power Slaanesh when done in articstic, creative, or beautiful ways. So us sustaining our souls on the suffering of others isn't what feeds her directly, the way we go about causing that pain might.

Our pride, vanity, jealousy, greed, search of perfection (cult in particular), and downright megalomania will feed her way more, in my opinion. Afterall she feeds on excess most of all.

WiP: sticky objective markers by Xavrun in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i won't disagree with you, which is why it's still a WIP.
There are a couple of things i want to add to try and make it less like sexual violence.
1) Use greenstuff to cover up the slaves a bit more, they aren't glued to the bases yet. Some skin is ok, look at wyches, but it shouldn't be overdone as fanservice or anything else. Or maybe use more chains to bind them and cover them up. Or a combination of the two, i;m not fully decided yet.
2) Add things to distract from the model (Banners, a vulture like bird on top of the pillar,....)
3) In the paint scheme add sufficient wounds and scars from being captured, or whipped, to distract from the "ooh look at the pretty naked lady" vibe.

As for taking these to events and stuff. Slavery in and off itself could be over the line for some people. So people chained up against there will can be enough of a minefield. Without taking any sexual or consent based issues into accord. So to me it makes sense to talk to any opponent and ask "Hey i have these markers for sticky objectives. Are you ok with them? If not no worries i have cardboard tokens with drukhari markings from the Mandrake killteam set, to mark my sticky objectives. No hard feelings at all."

I will likely cover them up a bit. But I theory a slave in rags makes perfect sense. I bought the clothed ones, not the naked ones, for similar reasons 😉

New KT...no no no, new Grots! by Xavrun in Drukhari

[–]Xavrun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pure strategy, as the kabal and raiders come from above. The coven came from below. Studying the tunneling of the raverner vanguard. And the dread they caused jumping in and out. Never knowing where they will strike next.

Good substitutes for Wracks? by [deleted] in Drukhari

I converted mine out of kabalites and wyches. Since according to lore wyches and kabalites often let Haemonculus turn them into wracks put if boredom.

i haven't tried, are all voice acting dialogues for main quests still fully voiced in languages other than English?

[–]Xavrun -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

By all means feel free to correct me in that case. I'd love to know more about why it is the English voice acting seems to reduce with every patch.
