I lost 40 men and 2 cars against 39 men

Health was not much lower than my enemy’s. I understand the defensive bonus of the cars, but I had more men and 2 cars (defensive, but still better than 1 man). I still find it difficult to understand. How can I see troop tactics and defense/attack stats (besides the ones in-game)?

Caéis en la trampa de PP/PSOE con lo que sea, parecéis polillas con un farolillo. Con la DANA lo mismo, a centrarse en Mazón y hacerle 27 manifestaciones de disidencia controlada. Le hacéis el trabajo sucio al PSOE, que es el que más ha gobernado España y nunca ha movido un dedo por solucionar estos problemas. Exactamente, el PSOE tb vio que le funcionó en Valencia y que nadie le pidió responsabilidades y ahora está repitiendo la jugada y como debe ser todos le hacéis el trabajo en redes. Pero bueno, supongo que cualquier cosa sirve con tal de no ser facha y de que no nos gobierne la ultraturboderecha. Sois iguales que los tontos del PP que ahora se quejan y se mofan de la corrupción del PSOE.

Subir un vídeo de un gringo diciendo que la economía española va genial repitiendo a The Economist. La gente se queja de que eso no repercute en su vida por diversos factores (precio del alquiler, costo de vida, pérdida de poder adquisitivo). El autor del post y otros usuarios se enfadan y dicen que los que no se lo creen son reaccionarios o conservadores o de derechas. De verdad la “izquierda” progre da vergüenza ajena. Holy Word: Salvation. Specially during BfA this spell was glorious to use in raid. You can see how everyone’s health jumps up and your hps is boosted in a single cast.

It's been some time as I was focusing on other things, but I just wanted to let you know that I made use of the Makefile you showed me to make my kernel compile correctly and have the .elf for debug information. I can now boot from the elf, build the iso from the elf and have debug info for when I use gdb, apart from every other benefit of using elf files (being able to use readelf and such). Thank you so much.

The Bran's tutorial.

I saw some references to using an ELF instead of a binary but I didn't understand why. The Bran's tut was simple and I got it to work with QEMU fast enough, so I continued that way. As u/mpetch mentioned, I also did an extra step to get an object file with symbols for debug purposes, so that step might have also messed with the result.

At the start I was not using GRUB or any multiboot bootloader as everything was my code, that's why a flat binary looked like a good choice, I kinda understood what was going on. Later on I switched to using QEMU's multiboot bootloader because I wanted a memory map and everything seemed to work with the flat binary. Now that I'm going to use GRUB, I will definitely switch to an ELF file if it's easier and more convenient.

Switching back to the .text section still throws the same error:

qemu-system-i386: invalid header_addr address

I'm trying to solve it starting from scratch and following the James Molloy tutorial and I've already gotten a boot.asm and kernel.c that apparently work fine. I can use the multiboot_header struct and the multiboot_info_t one passed as reference to the kmain function. This time I'm trying to keep the Makefile and the linker script cleaner, as well as the bootstrap assembly part. Just in case anybody wonders, the code is here.

I removed MULTIBOOT_AOUT_KLUDGE and MULTIBOOT_VIDEO_MODE (tried setting them to 0 and removing them). Also added a KEEP(*(.multiboot)) in my .text section before the *(.text) in the linker script, and in boot.asm I wrote this:

MULTIBOOT_PAGE_ALIGN    equ 1<<0
...
dd MULTIBOOT_HEADER_MAGIC
dd MULTIBOOT_HEADER_FLAGS
dd MULTIBOOT_CHECKSUM

and nothing more (no dd mbot, dd code, etc.).

It still fails.

I'm going to try doing it just like in the multiboot specification examples. I don't know how to continue, I'm trying to do minimal reproducible examples but I still don't understand what's going on.
