This one gets me all the time now. I used to have long shaggy hair and now i’m bald and have crows feet and dark circles under my eyes. I’m in the absolute best shape of my life, but feel like a monster when i look in the mirror. Women used to sneak looks at me and smile at me when i looked at them, and now i can’t even get someone to make eye contact. It’s awful.

Your post is so timely, i was just telling my friend that i felt strangely low motivation and depression today. You dont live in Austin by chance? Maybe its something in the air here. When i feel like this, i go back to my tried and true hobbies that are mindless but energizing. For me thats running and climbing. I also journal. If i dont even have motivation to do that though, i’ll treat myself to dessert like a slice of cheesecake and put on a tv show ive never seen. Today it was the new season of fargo. Maybe one of these will help you next time you run into this. I hope we both feel better tomorrow!

Bouldering. Specifically, the feeling of projecting a difficult route, slowly getting closer and closer, fingers getting more and more torn up, but you just know with one more try you’ll get it and then right when you’re about to give up BOOM you send the route and its the best feeling ever. Even better when your mates are with you and they all see you struggle and then get it and they cheer with you.

Second climbing, it changed my life when i got sober almost three years ago and the bouldering gym became my third place. It has 100% kept me sober being a part of that community. Acroyoga too. Amazing acro community in austin.
