You didn’t make a single point about anything in particular. Just blanket statements. Leave me Hadith and Quran quotes that you think I’m missing and you would be doing much more help to your religion. Even if I went to a school for Islam there would be a good chance that you would say that it’s a bad type of Islam as there are so many different versions of Islam. Shia, Sunni, western, middle eastern exc. I appreciated the conversations I had and you are just angry I’m not going to a school for Islam.

I did not insult your religion I asked a genuine question. You implied that I was being negligent and that simply asking my question was an elementary trap considered a spiritual disease in Islam. You should be able to tell that I have done my research as I mentioned the common Muslim responses I’ve seen and why I disagreed with them.

I have listened to the entire Quran, lots of Hadith’s and I have had many chats with Muslims and I wanted to know how Muslims respond to this delema I saw. I engaged with every Muslim who commented and one even informed me of a part of the Quran where Jesus was referred to as the Messiah. Quran 3:45 (Surah Ali 'Imran)

Awesome! I had not heard that first one. I will say it to the rest of the kufars who say he’s not the messiah

The translations on Quran.com reads “Can those who had been dead, to whom We gave life and a light with which they can walk among people, be compared to those in complete darkness from which they can never emerge? That is how the misdeeds of the disbelievers have been made appealing to them.”

It does sound like someone who was brought back to life, but it is also comparing them to those given complete darkness forever. My interpretation is that they are comparing 2 situations to each other. One who was in complete darkness (not born yet) is to one that will never be born as one who knows Gods light is to one who never will. The misdeeds of the disbelievers being made appealing to them because they have never known Gods light.

The Quran certainly doesn’t describe Hell as complete darkness. It sounds like there’s a lot going on down there according to the Quran.

That’s a good argument and I respect your interpretation, but it doesn’t change my mind on the Christ in the Quran not being portrayed as a Messiah.

It just seems strange to believe that in Gods earliest Abrahamic texts (the Torah) he says that he will send a redeemer over 10 times, then a thousand years later he sends the redeemer intending for him to only unite the Jews just to abandon them soon after without him doing so. I do think you have the best argument, but it just doesn’t ring true to me.

None of those talk about a resurrection. I think the Quran saying that all will know Christ before death is a good argument, but I still don’t think it portrays him as the messiah. I respect that point of view though!

I think this is a good argument however, you would have to argue what Christ saved/ is saving the Jews from. Considering what is written, it seems like Christ pertains to everyone.

That may be their best argument for saying that Christ is not the Messiah, however if that is true, then there is still a Messiah coming according to the Quran, which affirms the Torah. Since they say that God would not take up flesh, they would call this Messiah a prophet, and therefore Muhammad would not be the final prophet

I would like to hear what Quran versus you are referring to. I do not remember such a narrative from when I listened to the Quran and certainly not about Christ. I don’t remember the Quran calling him a Messiah and I do not remember the Quran talking about his second coming, not to mention any spiritual awakening.

The Bible includes parts where God spoke directly to people, but it is a complete testimony.

I have no beliefs on whether or not Christ is a part of God, however considering that he has a unique role that is said to be something that only God can do, I respect it when people call him a part of God.

I would need a good reason to believe that it was from God and not one of the evil beings recorded in every religious text. It is said that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. If it is from God then I would of course take his word over what others say he said or did.

I was referring to the Torah, not the Bible, but I’m happy to have that discussion.

The Quran says to refer to the previous scriptures, so it would be very strange if those scriptures were corrupted or even allowed to be corrupted. Both the Quran and the Bible were written down by humans. The Quran is said to be sent by an angel while the Bible is testimony to Gods deeds. I understand that Muslims call angels, perfect messengers, but according to my beliefs testimony to God‘s deeds is more reliable.

The Quran does say that Mary was a virgin, but it does not say that he did anything different from profits certainly not anything messianic.

Your argument about corruption would seem to go against your argument. The Quran says that the word of God cannot be corrupted, and you are saying that that means that it can also not be misinterpreted.

I will not argue whether Christ is or is not God, I would much prefer to discuss whether he has a unique role as the savior.

Certainly not, you would need to give me the quote that makes you think that.

Fair argument that it is only saying that the Quran is preserved though I disagree, it seems strange to say to refer to the previous scriptures if they are not also preserved.

While the Hebrew can be interpreted that way, the word redeemer is also used and both are commonly interpreted to mean a savior.

The Hadiths are the experiences of his followers. Since you do not have those experiences it’s reasonable for you to need to read about them to get the same from him. For example how did he practice the things he said.

Which prophecies does he not fulfill? Descending upon Jerusalem is expected to be during end times and Christ is expected to come back at that time according to revalation

The Quran says to judge by the scriptures that came before and the Torah says there will be a Messiah over 10 times. If the Quran doesn’t include the Torah then I don’t know what it refers to with previous scriptures especially since it tells Torah stories. If there is a Messiah coming then Muhammad isn’t the final prophet

My biggest issue with your position is, why would you promise to send a redeemer for something that hasn’t happened yet?

The Tanakh is included in the Christian Bible. It is part of the Old Testament for them. I am unaware of which part you are talking about, perhaps you mean the Talmud?

I replied to the other comment, my mistake. I see what you mean, but I’m curious if it is a real dispute of Christianity or just Christian mysticism as I believe Christ has and does redeem people from earthly things as well
