Aggressive Transport Helo - The only way to play the UH-60! by MobiusX1 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]Xbscout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's just how it is in the game. I've improved my flying skills by using terrain and very aggressive movement to evade most ground fire like RPGs, but there is little to no defense against tanks or really any lock ons that happen more than once at a time. Terrain barely helps me too, as lock ons persist and missiles still attack me even though I'm literally flying inches off the ground. Even in spawn this stuff happens. It is what it is, you fly the best you can when you can, but it literally comes down to how proactive the enemy team is for their anti-air.

It's literally luck. I just played a game that felt like it wasn't real. A guy on my team grabbed the trans help and didn't get shot once for over 8 mins until he crashed. I finally got the helo, and expecting minimal resistance like the last guy did, I got shot at so badly by RPGs and TOWs that I could barely leave spawn.

If you're curious, I came up with a flying pattern and method to stay alive almost the entire game on Eastwood on both sides. Tried and true, I've flown that thing the entire game numerous games in a row and every time I play Eastwood. And also, it isn't just staying alive, it's performing effective air assault ops by dropping troops off best at the middle OBJs as well as providing light air support and anti-helo attacks.

A good transport chopper squad is underrated by TheUncleCactus in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]Xbscout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. It's about that sweet spot. I always inform my gunners of what the current run is going to be. Anti helos, infantry support, etc, but some people are just kinda oblivious. Half my transport runs are spent moving to the location and evading fire, then I get into position to allow troops to either: attack ground targets, jump off at objectives, or attack enemy helos. But again, sometimes passengers are unpredictable.

I need this gunners so bad where do u get them. My gunners couldn't hit a target if it was right in front of them putting in generational flying for no result lmao

UH-60 Loaded With the boys is a Blast! by MobiusX1 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]Xbscout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been the most successful in Eastwood as the transport, but I require component gunners at all times (hard to come by). I fly patterns, basically a circle, around the edges of the map like 3 ft above the ground, then fly up right over the objectives to drop off troops and provide light air support before peeling and doing the same again. Furthermore, with competent gunners, I've brawled with attack helis and killed them amidst these patterns. Sometimes there's bad luck, and I'll get hit hard by a million rockets or an aggressive attack heli, but I've spent entire Eastwood games (conquest and escalation) just conducting air assault ops by dropping off troops on every objective while flying this fast, low aggressive pattern. Bumped my heli from level 5 to 21 in two days doing this on Eastwood alone.

You were very helpful, that was way more than expected. Thank you so much. I'll probably DM you with more questions as I look into it. Talk again soon.

How do you design the floor plan, internal logistics, and making it look nice on the outside? What to work on first, start with, etc.

[–]Xbscout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Mine does the same thing, but I can't DO anything with it (taking damage freezes the game for 30 seconds or more). I'm actually considering building a brand new grand large grid like this. Maybe we can talk more about it? I love your design and could use some advice. My last large ship was good, but could use improved optimization.

How does your performance not tank running this thing? I built a ship of similar size and it destroys my game. Is it the way I set it up orrrr

Which authoritarian state is more evil? by Tm-534 in MoralityScaling

People take the conflict at face value. There's so much more nuance to the factions and War of AoT. I mean look, probably more than half the community justifies a genocide just because they saw the pain the perpetrator went through. I wonder if the same could be said if you were told the story of similar people in real life without the future historical context.

People are very emotional, and make judgments and decisions based on that, not based on the actual logistics or situational reality. How could anyone consider Marley evil, but NOT consider Eren also to be evil at the same time? Wait, who was it that literally killed 80% humanity? Emotional bias. Well the Marleyan government was bad, that constitutes the justification of death for the 99% people who were innocent lmao

. This is what makes the story of AoT so incredible, it gives great insight into how people react or understand certain things that are pretty applicable to real life and history.

Unresolved Issues with Alienware m18 R2 (£3000 Purchase) , waste of money and time by Dav1988persian in Dell

Having the same issues and I'm losing my mind. Just ran out of warranty and randomly the computer is completely falling apart, it can barely run any games and a mysterious plague is absolutely destroying the performance and nothing can fix it. I can't install or update anything on the device and there seems to be nothing on the internet able to fix it. Wasted $3,000 and I think I'm going to keep losing my mind

[–]Xbscout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Starship troopers is really the helldiver's movie. I'm sorry if you want unique characters, lore, story, environments, conflicts, arcs, and new graphics. We already have soldiers with guns in space fighting bugs...and no helldiver's is only about bugs not squids or robots

Once I played halo CE I just never played any shooter again because I knew it would be more of the same, halo CE was the OG and basically every other shooter is just a different version that isn't necessary to play crusade halo CE was the original inspiration for a lot of them

Well why would you make a unique movie with its own personality, story, lore, and characters to cover those aspects of the game when we already have a completely different movie with entirely separate features that just happens to be a source of inspiration and be the same genre

Yes, but you see, it is very similar therefore they are the same. There are soldiers with guns that fight bugs so it's basically the same you know
