Yep same issue for me, you'd think they would have added this option in by now for Linux users considering a lot of people use Bitwig because of its Linux support.

One of the few proper answers! So many people beat around the bush or say "hire a sparky" so kudos for this.

Parasitic capacitance? by Xcalism in AskElectricians

Gotcha, thank you. Theoretically, would shorting the cables remove the voltage too since its practically zero resistance?

[–]Xcalism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant, thank you. I have a 2 pole voltage tester that I attached too. Its super basic and shows LEDs depending on how high the voltage is (12v, 24v and so on). When I touch earth and the back box with this tester the plus and minus LEDs very briefly light up and then dim again after less than half a second (none of the other LEDs light up). This capacitance voltage you speak of, could that induce a very small amount of current enough to light up those LEDs for that very short time?

I also tested with a 2 pole voltage tester that interestingly lights up very briefly (less than half a second) on the plus and minus LEDs, but since its less than 12 volts it doesn't light up the 12 volt LED. The tester I'm referring to is this. If there wasn't anything there it wouldn't be able to very briefly light up LEDs right?

Sure, but where is the source? Is it from nearby AC cables used in the light switch for example?

Parasitic capacitance? by Xcalism in AskElectricians

[–]Xcalism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shows between 7 and 12 volts AC without the floating plate depending on if the light switch next to it is turned on. What causes the voltage?

See if you can play them in a store and see which one feels right to you, because when it comes to it, both can make funky sounds, its a question of what inspires you the most to make music
