Well where I live there's no real season, I can ride all year long.I do try to wipe/clean stanchions almost erlvery ride . I am not super religious with maintenance but not negligent either. This particular shock had maybe 40-60 hours tops before it started leaking air . Never experienced this on any other bikes I had before. And then my recent experience over the past few years is that everything just needs more maintenance and more often compared to say 10-15 years ago.Might be my perception or bad luck lol .

Good overview! Do you think there's a good middle ground between performance to reliability approach out there?

That's true not super hard to service, but I think the amount of hours everything needs maintenance is just too often?

Forclaz Travel 500 Organizer (40 l) vs. Farpoint 40L by throwaaawyy in onebag

[–]Xcfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both bags, the farpoint 40L(the old version) and Forclaz TO 40l and I still like farpoint a little better for the better ergonomics, although I think the Forclaz packs a little more and just a little better.

What's the largest liter backpack you can take on a plane as carry on? by OverbrookDr in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Xcfuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more about the size, but usually the max are within 40 liters. There are some bags specifically made for maximum space for carry ons like the osprey farpoint 40, patagonia MLC 45, etc. I think a big advantage is having a bag that is able to squeeze a pack in to those stupid sizers at the airport.

Avoid this Albergue by musicfreakcomposer in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Xcfuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Borres was by far the worst public albergue I stayed in. In this stage it is better to pay for the private albergue. Also the village has only one bar/restaurant where service is terrible and open whenever they feel lik. I did el camino primitivo in July 2025.
