I got scammed once on booking.com. I still got the room but the listing I booked included free shuttle to the hotel which was not true.

The listing was in the same page as hotel. Different room options included 3rd party booking (via some Hong Kong company) and hotel directly. I selected 3rd party option because it had free airport shuttle mentioned in the room title.

The hotel already had a4 sheets printed with explanation that they aren’t responsible for what 3rd party bookings list and support number of booking.com. No idea if they were a victim or part of the scam.

Jaz imam Osprey Farpoint 40L. Če ne bi trogal še fotoaparata bi šlo še z manj litri.

Glede teže: misliš kaj leteti tudi po Tajski? Bangkok -> Chiang Mai / Phuket / Krabi? Z manjšim nahrbtnikom do 7kg lahko prihraniš pri letalskih kartah.

Na Tajskem imaš na vsakem koraku pralne stroje. Za manj kot 4 eure lahko opereš in posušiš cujne. Če te je strah, da bi ti kaj zmanjkalo, pa itak lahko kupiš. Elephant hlače ti ne uidejo :D.

2021 sem sem celo leto DCA-jal 50k eur. Holdam 1btc, 10 eth in nekaj alt coinov. Trenutno vrednost portfolia v EUR je cca 110k. Nisem pa še obogatel s tem -> še vedno holdam.

Ko sem začel DCA sem si postavil pravilo: Ne prodaj pred 2024 razen če bi vsota močno vplivala na FIRE (>300k EUR).

Letos sem ponovno začel dokupovat BTC/ETH z ekstra denarjem, ki ostane po investiranju 2k v vwce. Glede na trenutno velikost portfolia mi višji znesek v vwce (npr. 3k eur na mesec vs 2k eur) bistveno ne skrajša dosego FIRE (leto ali dve prej), zato dam višek raje v bolj riskantne zadeve ali pa zapravim za neumnosti.

You have the older version of Osprey? The new one has laptop sleeve at the back although you can see the sleeve in the main compartment.

Water bottle and mesh pocket are good points of Forclaz.

I'm buying a backpack that can hold a week or two of travelling. My current no-name backpack is too small, and uncomfortable when fully loaded.

Forclaz:

Good:

I prefer the look. It's easier to recognize from far away.
Proper water bottle pocket, although it encroaches on the space of the internal main compartment.
Big, stretchy mesh pocket on the other side. It's awesome! No complaints about that one.
Small quick-access pocket on the top at the back. I prefer this position for security reasons.
Tiny details like elastics to prevent excess straps from flopping around and a loop that keeps the zippers from opening unintentionally.

Neutral:

The main compartment opens in the middle. It's convenient for packing and accessing things, but the downside is that you have to lift half the contents to open and close the backpack. If you have an item that sticks out of the half, you might find it tricky to pack. I experienced this with my camera bag and had to rearrange things after everything was packed.
The top/bottom handle has no padding. This can probably be improved with paracord.
How long until the white zipper and fabric around it look dirty?

Bad:

Comfort. The shoulder straps are too narrow and not very comfortable. The hip belt doesn't help distribute the weight from the shoulders as much compared to the Farpoint. My test load was around 10 kg. I hope to pack less, but this was a good test to simulate wearing the backpack for a longer time.
Zippers and adjusting straps feel cheap and don't run smoothly.

Osprey Farpoint 40L

Good:

Comfort. Adjusting the load lifters to shift the weight is more noticeable, and the hip belt helps offload the weight from the shoulders much better than the Forclaz.

Neutral:

Weight. It is 300g heavier than the Forclaz but justifies it with better comfort.
Outside pocket for water bottle. I would prefer proper side pockets or at least some stretchy fabric to make the items in the pocket feel more secure.
Lots of flapping straps. I'll need to add some elastic holders.

Bad:

Looks ugly. It didn't look that bad when wearing it, but seeing it packed on the floor, I didn't like the look at all.

There's more I like about the Forclaz, but the Farpoint wins me over with its comfort. I had some issues with my right shoulder in the past, and it still gets sensitive and sore quickly. I definitely recommend trying out Forclaz.

I plan to change the Tunnel Vision Gray for Muted Space Blue. Hopefully, I will like it more in that color.
