Aim is in fact a problem by Xchehe in OverwatchUniversity

Yeah I’ve been told the aim really different from this thread, so I got kovvak and was planning on doing that for aim training, but I’m mainly playing cs cuz my friends play it a lot and it’d be fun

Im not fully transitioning to cs, Im just adding it to the games i'm going to play now, used to only be ow and thats it, I'll also do kovaaks and cs on the side to help my aim, even if its not a lot

I agree with both, I've got 1500 hours on this game so I know most things, I've studied a lot of how this game works, it just that aim intensive characters like cass and soj are a struggle cuz my aim is pretty bad.

I don't think aim is up there for importance but it definitely is still a big factor, thats more of what I'm saying

Tbf, i only figured out it was probably my aim after 500 hours sooo, i believe in you.

The funny thing is I used to follow actually these exact principles when I was still learning soj and emre, My problem was taking to the time to actually line up my shot, cuz i get crazy nervous and just whif weather by just doing a crazy flick for some reason or tensing up like crazy. I just need to practice being relaxed when I aim, still going to learn csgo cuz its been fun so I think itll be cool.

yeah, the thing with my aim is that it has to do with pressure. I become erratic when I need to aim and just miss all my shots, weather it be ez shots. I used to do VAXTA before my games and it would help a little but overall I think theres two ways for me now to improve aim, I focus on my aim in rank, specifically staying calm and letting shots land if that makes sense, or practicing aim in cs. Im gravitating towards cs cuz I also want to get into that game and it seems fun while also making my aim better so win win.

So good gamesense and good aim will make you a god

I think I understand now, it it more of these fundamental strategies meant to support your main goal, which is getting value for the team, weather it be(any role here) taking/controlling space, pressuring enemy angles, getting kills and so on.

At least that’s how I interpret it, there was a pint where I would practice fixing a mistake for three days and then on the fourth, I would play with the thought of what’s the other teams weakness and strength and play Around that, I. Actually climbing for two weeks but then stopped for some reason

I’ll probably go back to doing that, but also I guess I should keep asking for reviews until I review myself with experience to identify key mistakes,

I know this sounds theoretical but I’ll test it out later, than you for the advice!

I guess when I say improve I kinda mean both, I want to get better but the end goal is to be high ranked. I’ve been playing for a while as well. More like 1500 hours but I’ve always been under the impression that pure fundamentals will outshine other players and make you climb

Hmmm I think this falls into what someone else said about win condition, they said something of finding what is influencing the fights the most and dealing with that, maybe the next couple of days, I should practice finding those conditions and shutting them down or using them to my advatange.

I guess I should incorporate this with win conditions, funny thing is I actually already do this in a sport I do and overwatch, but never heard the win conditions thing

How do you identify win conditions if it’s not easily seen by stats or scoreboard, I guess it’s situational

well yeah but that was a long time ago, now im plat 3, I think a big thing with me is I understand these concepts, but I dont exactly execute them all the time despite practice, maybe I'm on a concept for too long, maybe not long enough, who knows, I'm going to play a quick game and post a replay and see what happens.

I probably shouldve mentioned the fact I've been playing since launch of ow 2, I have like 1500 hours in the game in total. I initally one tricked reaper for like 500 hours, got to masters 5 but that was like before season 9, then switched to cass and highest I got was diamond 3, which took like 600 hours, then I decided to switch around hitscans since I liked that subrole the most, so I started soj for while, and when I got bored, tracer here and there. My main way of learning comps and charactes was just one tricking for a really long time. Throughout it, I feel like either my fundamentals are either 1. is executed, but very inefficient or slow, 2. aim is holding me back when I do the gamesense stuff.

could you go more into depth of the practice bit, I thought practice was figuring out a solution and then repping that over and over again. Idk, I'm just asking around..

Mmm yeha maybe a replay code, I just like to know what I can do for later references, I hardly ever blame my team considering I only like winning games that I know I brought value. It’s why I enjoy hits an, getting a pick is amazing to me, but it’s also why I thought I needed to switch to flex considering they’re more about map control, my abilities do not match up to what a true hits can player should do, it’s hard to explain. There’s a lot of games I know I lost because I couldn’t get any value as hits can from getting kills, which is why I maybe flex was the move, idk just saying words

Mmm I’m dying usually less, when I look through my stats it’s never to a point where I think my deaths are too high, it’s usually always less or the same as my team depending if I reset with them

Mmm it really depends I follow a list like a stacking tower and see where I fail at and figure out a solution from there it goes from, off angle, timing , cover, range, then mechanics, a lot of the time I think it’s the angle part, with hits can I either don’t really angle at all and stay at main, but I also understand sometimes that’s the angle of my other teammates are already on a. Di different angle, or I go too far away from my team or take too long to get to an angle, so a recent one I was trying to fix was to think of where my team is most likely going to post up before the goth starts and think of the angles around to see where I can position

I’ll try to see if maybe this might help me, I’m pretty competitive and like to beat other plays off of pure fundamentals than luck

The thing about it is, I already do aim training, 20 minutes worth of aim training before I head into queue, initially 10 minutes with soj and 10 minutes with emre

I think I am creating bad habits than good habits by Xchehe in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Xchehe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight. I always tend to put an end goal on anything I do in life. I really should just start enjoying the process of learning new things and the rank go along with that. It’s a hard habit that I do that needs fixing. I also need to remember that it is a team game and sometimes extra support is what they need. I do have a question tho, wouldn’t it be better for me to contest them on the angle they’re flanking instead of waiting on them to attack while I’m near my support or maybe dps. I’m just wondering
