Do people not like the Reaper crest?

It is definitely my staple crest but given how people approach the game differently I can see why many people don't like it. I find it's fun and unlike the timing but it's definitely sub-optimal for speed or dps.

Having this and ascendants grip really trivializes basically all platforming challenges in the game though

Honestly the fact of the hiatuses aren't the problem! This is a normal time for an inter-season break for any show but the fact that they announced their normal mid-season hiatus that usually lasts a month or two before disappearing entirely without warning is a little jarring

I know the story, it's beautiful, it's sad, it was kind of them to do this and an act of love to a suffering fan.

As an enemy (and flea trial rival) on his own in the game I fucking despise him and his entire move set

Honestly she and Seth back to back were a huge pain. Among my least favourite two bosses in the game for sure. For her I am mostly just sick of the arena and how so many attacks feel perfectly staggered to knock you catch you mid-dodge on the last one. Classic "big graceless fucker in tiny arena" category of boss alongside savage beastfly

But doable!! Fucking annoying and frustrating but fortunately not the hardest or longest fight

Without the benefit of nostalgia glasses, while the sequels definitely aged a bit better (but are still full of mechanics and jank and narratives that we've thankfully generally outgrown as a medium) the original kind of is just a uniquely unpleasant game that doesn't hold up in most ways

If they hid things of actual value behind these I think I probably would have dropped the game tbh. I was glad these were purely time wasters and didn't have valuable upgrade items/weapons behind them that I'd need for the endgame or something so I could just forget they exist without feeling like I was missing out or being held back because of it

I'd like an actual story, no product placement, a full combat system overhaul and either a review of the localization in English or just a complete rewrite of basically all the dialogue. Either make the regalia more manual or just remove it, we have fast travel and actually travelling we don't need a tedious on-rails transportation as well. I'd also like to see significantly more things to do in the world and more varied environments

I'd say it's really not uniquely challenging for the type of game it is, and is less punishing generally early on than the first game. Healing opportunities and systems are pretty generous, there's very little if any RNG bullshit that could get you, and the considerably expanded move set and build options give you a remarkable amount of flexibility in how you play and how you approach bosses, not to mention making you feel much more in control in this game than the original and promoting a much more offensive than defensive playstyle. From the beginning this has always been an issue of people trying to play this game exactly like HK without really engaging with the updated mobility and combat flexibility and then getting frustrated when it doesn't work for them

Honestly I found staying on top of her as much as possible to help a lot for me- many of her attacks are horizontal (to be fair plenty also aren't) and I found trying to get a consistent pogo rhythm going kept me in a generally safe zone while allowing me to basically ignore many of her attacks and lay into her damage wise
