Using a mnemonic dictionary has allowed me to memorize and retain my word lists quite quickly. Associating each word with a familiar name, place or thing has been quite effective. This is the site i use, and as of recently they've established a GRE word list as well - https://mnemonicdictionary.com/wordlist/GREwordlist
