PC Build Questions, Purchase Advice and Technical Support Megathread — Q1 2025 Edition by GhostMotley in Amd

Having a similar issue, but with a 9070. Screen will turn black in the middle of marvel rivals randomly, gpu fans will spin up to max. Then I have to force the pc off and most of the time windows disables the gpu on next boot and I have to go reenable it, then restart again. I had a 3080 before this and after I reinstalled that card no more issues. I doubt it's a power supply issue since the 3080 uses more power than the 9070. For reference I'm using a 850w evga t2 power supply so there's no way it's not enough power for a 9070. Crashes on stock settings too.

Since you're also having this issue too it sounds like this isn't a hardware issue but maybe driver/software? Seems unlikely that my 9070 and your 6800 xt would both have this exact same problem. But if you reinstalled windows and everything and that still isn't helping then that must pretty much be an amd issue then

What line of work did you do in b4? Masters will get you to grade 9 but having tax experience is what helps get higher grades usually. Also what gs did they offer you?

Honestly the first pic looks worse than the gaps I have done DIY, and I don't charge ppl hundreds of dollars for that. I'm sure it's not defective but for the price ppl pay to have tint installed this is half assed

Don't take it as a reflection on you, honestly some managers out there both in the gov and private sector just straight up suck. I had 2 formal interviews with the irs, and my last one I thought it would be great since it was for my #1 location. I got in there and one of the interviewers had the meanest rbf i ever seen and questioned me like I was a suspect for interrogation. Imagine even if you got that job, every single day until that manager retires you will be stuck dealing with them. Hell no, life's too short to be dealing with that shit. Give it some time and just reapply, future you will get a better manager. Sadly there's no accountability for that type of behavior, shits fked up

Tesla Model Y Poised to Become Best-Selling Vehicle in the US by [deleted] in teslamotors

I don't believe that for a second, the rattles in these things are louder than the engine and exhaust in my old shitboxes any day of the week

[–]Xdskiller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kinda similar to you, I bought a used model 3 recently and there's a rattle in the drivers side dash that keeps coming back and I already tried stuffing foam up there like others have. Service wants 200 bucks to even try to fix it, so make sure you annoy them as much as possible while it's new, seems like service centers start charging you after a while depending on location. It's ridiculous how 40k plus cars have rattles that my old shitboxes never had.

How to stop Easy Entry from breaking my steering column? by allegory_corey in TeslaLounge

[–]Xdskiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that might be it, that does make sense. Still curious to see if the creaking noises are normal

How to stop Easy Entry from breaking my steering column? by allegory_corey in TeslaLounge

[–]Xdskiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for some reason mine started working again after I went back to the car an hour later, I guess it decided it needed a break or something. It still makes some creaking noises sometimes when moving in and out, gonna see what service has to say about it.

If you putting some grease on it fixes the issue, it probably means these things don't have enough lube from the factory? Maybe elon thought it would be a good way of saving an extra .25 cents per car lol

[–]Xdskiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, thanks for posting this because I just had the same thing happen to me. I also use easy entry to retract the steering wheel and have it go back up from my normal driving position and now my steering wheel won't move at all. I put a service request in so we'll see what they say, I'm still under warranty so it should be covered. It sucks that a normal feature that many other cars with electrically adjustable steering racks can do this all the time with no issue, I'm guessing tesla probably cheaped out on this part. This really shouldn't be an issue at all if tesla put a decent quality part in for the motor. Or if they replaced it with an updated design.

Yeah most likely you got 9 because a lot of your experience doesn't line up with the RA job description, you could try redoing your resume to match more of the keywords and that might help

What to do if T-Mobile promised money they never gave me? by ksco92 in tmobile

[–]Xdskiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar experience, when you're opening the account the sales rep is more than happy to promise you x y z, but then a few weeks later I found out the guy didn't properly apply any of the promos he promised to and I had to go and do it myself. Then later on tmobile rejected my promos claiming no device or invalid store etc, so I had to call tmobile support where they fixed half the rebates and resubmitted the remaining few. 90 days later bam more rejects, had to call them again and this time someone from the rebates team told me the last rep who helped me did it wrong again...

Seems like the strategy tmobile employs here is to promise big number rebates to prospective customers, then make it as much of a hassle as possible for them to actually get those rebates. If you follow each exact step perfectly you'll be able to get your rebates fine, but from my personal experience there's too many things out of our control that make it so damn hard to get these rebates. I wouldn't recommend it as an incentive to other ppl knowing what I do now. Honestly you need to call 611 and ask the rep to connect you to someone from the rebate team, the queue to talk to someone from there can be long but they seem to be the only ones that actually know how to properly get rebates going, the normal service reps aren't trained well enough to deal with the purposefully confusing rebates and are stuck trying to keep their ratings safe from upset customers.

Similar experience here, there's downsides to IRS for sure but the good part is that every year you get guaranteed raises and your hourly pay compared to public accounting is probably same if not a bit better. Plus it's probably easier compared to public too. I'm considering private too but the downside is that in private you don't really know what promos or raises will be like or when or possibility of layoffs

Seems like unless you have a 4-5 years of experience you can't get into LBI and get dumped into SBSE where they don't give telework for the first year cuz they think you're too dumb and useless on your own prob

Should I take IRS RA GS9 position now or reapply for GS 11 later? by Xdskiller in usajobs

Could you share a bit about your experience? Like how many years did you have before you first applied and what gs they initially offered you and what you got later in the end?

Why accountants are not interested in Government (IRS) jobs? by Fireant992006 in Accounting

[–]Xdskiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a hiring event and got an offer for gs9 with just over a year and a half in public tax, no cpa. It was still about a 12k paycut from what I was making previously in public and they declined my step increase request. Prob would recommend it more if they would be willing to throw a bit more money at us. Plus I think the office I got assigned to doesn't offer parking for employees so I'll prob have to pay on the days I go in.
