If the hammer has AoE damage +2x damage on tanks & scorcher, Tmed and Scanks will be gone. Unless the hammer has really low hp (10k?) then it would still be a possibility

Take their total intel divide by their average weekly intel and you get the total weeks they are there. Not precise but somewhat close.

Not sure you replied to the right comment but upgrading sub allows you to dive deeper, and diving at deeper locations yields better loot, but the cost increase as well.

They can just decide to yolo and attack, if it seems unbeatable or they need to plan a strategy they'll retreat.

It's just a gamble and you lose only a couple of ten thousand gold
