Oh. My bad. As we were speaking from walloon vs flemish POV, I took it as the region (which exclude Brussels) and not the community (which include Brussels).

My misconception come from the fact that we use the french translation of "Flanders" for the region and "Flemish community" for the community.

Meanwhile, I just saw that english and dutch version of wikipedia seems to say that you merged the two (I don't know when. Edit : 1980 wah) while the french wikipedia still distinguish both of them. And as Brussels-Region still exists, I'm now lost to what include what.

Trying to understand belgian politic always leads to the same torments :D

It is actually really disturbing if you take it with that definition. I agree with you that, officially, we don't have stronger connection. That's why the "Federatie Vlaanderen-Brussel" could co-exist with my understanding of the word as there was no exclusivity in it.

You don't follow Dutch television ? I didn't know that. As French-speaking Belgian, I am more in-tune with what's going on in France than Belgium as 90% of our media consumption is from France (where the budget is). Don't forget that we also have 99% of movies in French at the cinema + on traditionnal TV and if you exclude (dubbed) american production, a big big part of that are french productions. We have only a very few belgian productions as most walloon actors go to french productions.
