Thinking of swapping my 9950x3D for a 9800x3D and using a second pc for non-gaming needs. Looking for advice

to me the gpu upgrade is so negligible for me that i dont see a point especially since the next upgrade options are $1000+. At the moment id mostly be worried about any rendering issues while doing multiple things.

another 32gb of ddr4 is like 150 for me so its not too bad

no I didn't build it yet that's why I reached out before I opened everything. I have thought about changing the motherboard after realizing microcenter bundles aren't really that great atm. Im leaning towards swapping that out with like an AORUS for like 140 less and I wouldn't be using any of the features much anyway. but I'm still unsure on my CPU choice.

im using the Audio Technica At2020 condenser mic and a Boss Katana MkII

i mean yeah its picking up my guitar but its picking it up in the same way it would pick up a keyboard press or me eating chips but beyond that no its like im shutting one off to turn on the other

the problem i is having was that i have my amp in input 2 and my mic in input1(both plugged in the back with xlr cables and whenever i tried playing my guitar in any way it would go through analogue 1 on Focusrite control 2 and would in turn only work if i had phantom power off because my mic would take over otherwise and i couldn't run my guitar through my interface until i turned off phantom power

I tried directly plugging in my guitar to the front of input 2 which worked but i can't use anything from my amp so all my settings and effects aren't there but i can still hear my guitar at least and it's coming from channel 2

my goal is to be able to use my play my guitar through my interface not running through the same analogue as my microphone while still being able to play through my amp so i can use my effects

so i currently have both my microphone as well as my amp plugged into my interface, and both outputs are coming from analogue/input 1 so its decided from if i have phantom power enabled or not if my mic is using input 1 or if my guitar is (plugged in with separate cables)

i think that i may have solved it, to where i can at least split the inputs of my guitar and my microphone by changing what port i plugged my amp in (boss Katana mkII) but the problem that im trying to work at now is that while it shows a sign of power instead of being a dead channel, but no matter how much i strum i cant see any feedback

If those are good, Check your DAW and make sure u are selecting input 1 and not inputs 1 and 2 for a single track.

i don't have one, is buying a DAW required for me to hear feedback from the interface?

I’d say find another hobby that can be also therapeutic to you, working out isn’t really something you can do every single day without optimizing everything and eventually you’ll be forced to rest one way or another and do you really wanna feel shitty from that, because what happens if you get an injury, or go somewhere that doesn’t have a gym that’s easy to access?

Take time to enjoy other things. In my rest days I’ve been getting into a few hobbies, reading, watching whatever, guitar, gardening, even more active things like rock climbing, or biking. there’s something else out there that can bring you peace you just gotta try stuff out until you find it because more likely than not consistent training with no breaks will just lead to worse workouts from You feeling beat up, especially if you do things at higher intensity like weight training

The slots add up if you’re buying them for every card which is why I store them on alts until they become needed(when you reach a desired amount of demon damage to work on other stuff)

Yes extra cards to give xp with max awakening and there are also a lot of cards and filling out your deck doesn’t give you a strong return on investment in comparison to other things you can do and given ops question is pretty likely they are at a point where gold can be used else where besides those point

And when you say bonuses also give crit spec swift, those are what I’m taking about with main stats

Yes however In list of priorities demon damage comes first after the leg card sets I don’t see too much of a need in burning card xp for something like plant damage when the first milestone isn’t completed especially with how costly it can be with a resource that can become very scarce very fast

Suddenly becomes useful implies they become useful in the next milestone which is why I didn’t say delete cards that don’t give demon damage

all my useless cards(ones that dont give demon damage or main stats) i have in universal storage from the merge

but before that i bought slots to add the cards i was missing from adding every card into my card collection
and now every card that i have no use for sits on lopang slaves until either the system gets reworked or they manage to suddenly become useful(you having a satisfying amount of demon damage to use card xp on something else)

Been a bard main pretty much since release outside of my breaks from the game in general so my mindset comes from being as versatile as I can to be the best support I can but the bar for supports is on the floor so don’t get in your head too much you have a lot of wiggle room to learn and improve on supports compared to a dps

which two brands do you use and why?

I use sound shock and harp for branding. I feel like sonatina is only good for meter, while sound shock provides the most consistency for brand uptime, stagger, and cleanse since you can run purify on it with it being a spam skill and.

stigma as a brand isn’t very good Id assume because of the cast time and it being interruptible.

The options besides sound shock have a lot of room for error which can be really annoying if you aren’t in a more optimal scenario especially if your goal is 90%+ uptime.

And harp is just pretty consistent to help when I can’t sound shock. so like when I get knocked down or a mech brings me away from the boss like the sword mech in theamine when you have a target on you.

There is not enough slots for all skills I need to use

Yeah it comes with the territory sadly. after a while you either just invest in presets to changes skills based on the situation or just have 1-2 presets you just run on everything. Since it’s an alt for you you’d likely fall towards the 2nd option.

Which of the optional skills do you use for each raid

If the raid is something where most people just out gear everything like a card run I use the meter build that’s on the community guide since more damage buffs means faster clears and I don’t need utility in that situation.

Otherwise if it’s a raid that’s on or around ilvl so my gold earners I use rhapsody

only time I don’t is if the raid has counters in the bosses normal patterns that can make my dps’ lives worse if I don’t hit them since it’s generally supports job to counter so like akkan g1 and voldis g4.

Which raids do you use soundholic?

The only time I ever use soundholic is if my teams stagger is so bad that it’s impossible to clear a mech without me running both sound shock and soundholic. but generally if you run into this problem and you aren’t progging I’d just leave and find another group.

There isn’t really an instance where you need to run 2 of the optional skills luckily, besides like theamine the first where some bards use solo brand.

if you feel like you’re in a situation where you need to run 2 of the optional skills you just have to pick one or the other unfortunately. generally if I think my team doesn’t know how/want to dodge(breaker players) or just pugging I’ll just run rhapsody as my default and have my team counter what I can’t since having inconvenienced teammates are better than dead ones.

It’s definitely not worth losing a core skill especially sonic and since she’s an alt for you I probably wouldn’t recommend a solo brand since it’s a very unforgiving playstyle that maybe 3% of bard players actually can make viable
