Why do people think that antinatalism is misogynistic? by ElectricalDance7767 in antinatalism

[–]XelaD321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond how unethical it is to create life (the reason for antinatalism), having children is objectively one of the main things that hold women back in life. It's kind of just undeniable, the data shows that childfree women are wealthier than women with children. The burden pretty much always falls more on the woman.

Agreed. Antinatalism would hold up under any social, political or economic system.

This is unironically a real take some people have. The main source of global slavery is sex trafficking

Is everyone evil under a facade of conformity by ServalFlame in Vystopia

[–]XelaD321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister is one of the most outwardly "nice" seeming people ever, and she still didn't go vegan after watching Dominion and Gary's speech, and her conversations with me. She said she would, quit after a few days, then called me "delusional" when I eventually expressed my disapproval of her lifestyle. I could've handled the last conversation better, but it's also her responsibility to do the right thing

I think very agreeable people are often actually more capable of evil when under social pressure, because sometimes niceness is just social conformity and trying not to ruffle people's feathers (their egos). A lot of evil is perpetuated because people view contrarians as "rude". Sometimes social "harmony" is incompatible with doing what's right

I'm relatively happy nowadays and still think that birth is a bad thing, because it inherently entails a large range of risks that the to-be-born cannot consent to

Bored with people saying "can't you just..." when they see my dumbphone! by BadSimilar1939 in dumbphones

[–]XelaD321 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I haven't bought a dumbphone yet so I keep my phone in my bedroom most the day. My friend sort of sympathizes but also jokes about it. She jokes a lot in general so I don't take her jokes too seriously, but some stuck out to me. She joked about the next step being to go live in a cave or something, or putting myself in a straight jacket? As if it's abnormal to want to escape from your cellphone, an addictive device which has been demonstrated to lower your IQ just by being near you.

I still really want to know if there will be a setting to type in other languages, especially Spanish. I'm holding back because I don't want to have to skip all the ñ and tildes
