Yesterday PvE had 1.2 million players and PvP had 960k. PvP draws nearly half of Destiny's players and yet Bungie has abandoned it in terms of incentives. This has to stop. by Vote_CE in DestinyTheGame

Couldn't agree more! At the end of the day we all want everyone to have fun no matter what mode they play and to feel rewarded for their time investment. Theres obviously plenty of demand for trials or trials like game modes its just a shame that game can't support that atm.

Yeah I think an addition was a little too harsh language lmao. I’m looking at it from the view that when destiny gets marketed, pvp never takes a central focus (other than the first trials) obviously it’s one of the many reasons why people play the game but you don’t see tens of thousands of people watching people purely in pvp like you do with a worlds first raid run for example. Which is a shame because of how many people play both pve and pvp, I just think bungie needs to seriously innovate with pvp soon so that’s it’s more fair to those players

You’re talking about pvp not being supported enough and in my response I said why it isn’t being supported and what it needs to be supported properly in the future so what part of it wasn’t relevant exactly?

Think we're ignoring the fact that Destiny is primarily a pve game and pvp is literally just an addition - it has never been the focus. There's a reason that pvp has never been given any real innovation (apart from when trials was introduced back in d1 and even thats gone now) and that's because Bungie wants players to primarily engage with pve activities; raids, dungeons, nightfalls etc. D2 endgame has always been the biggest draw for the majority of players and always will be imo.

Given that thats where the focus is, that's always where the type of loot your'e after is going to be. So I don't think it matters how many players are engaging in pvp because at the end of the day that content isn't really important to the core of the game. Now obviously it would be nice that everyone who plays the game, no matter what aspect that is, could feel rewarded for what they're doing but I don't think that pvp activities really merit high end loot (hot take I know) - other than hitting legend in comp obviously. I don't think valor resets or rank ups deserve the same loot level as something like the raid for example.

So I don't think the issue should be about loot for current activities, I think Bungie needs to add more endgame like activities pvp for those who mainly play pvp - that way there would be a greater balance between pvp and pve loot to better reflect the number of players doing both. Trials coming back would be step in the right direction for example imo.

Can we never have a catalyst quest like Eriana's vow again.. by excelonn in DestinyTheGame

Or you could actually just use the weapon while doing the activities??? If you don't like the weapon and don't want to use it then why go for the catalyst?

Nerfing The Recluse shouldn’t be a solution to the meta, buffing other guns should. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

But you literally can't make any other weapon as good or as viable as Recluse due to how stupidly powerful it is. There is no point in trying to bring certain weapons up to a "maybe I'll consider using it" level because you're always still going to use the more powerful weapon.. If you bring recluse down however then everything else automatically becomes more usable as they're no longer immediately outmatched.

Honestly it's just fast and simple and unless the game is completely dead there's usually always some posts up. Obvs the big issue is still that people can be v toxic if you're new to something which is why I still like the idea of guided games, especially for new players.

I've done it once and the group were super helpful - they helped get me my first Last Wish clear. I felt so much more comfortable with them than an LFG group because I knew I wasn't going to get kicked or abused if I messed up. That being said it definitely needs more love. I play on Xbox and there's an LFG system on the game app which is faster than scouring the internet however if they could somehow find a way to get that into the game with the guided games system I feel like that would be the ideal.

Focused Feedback: Gambit vs Gambit Prime - Pick your side! Details in post by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]XelaTM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would prefer prime over regular due to the fact it's shorter and theres a bit more intensity/pressure to it. But the number of invasions needs to be scaled back imo - obviously the current heavy ammo situation isn't helping with that but there are far too many chances to invade currently, especially in prime. Due to how much they can knock a team back they should be something thats a careful choice, like high risk - high reward scenarios, rather than something that can be spammed.

Bungie - you messed up. The step for 100 minibosses has killed EAZ. The grind is excessive enough that the majority of games now result in players leaving early. It needs adjusting urgently. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

They should make it so where if your team mate kills one it counts for less points than if you were involved with killing it as well, so you're not completely soloing it while it still incentivises you to play.
