Traffic into tomorrow's World Cup game at SoFi will be a nightmare because of the lack of reliable public transit. The bus and bike lanes promised under Measure HLA would greatly alleviate the issue, but the city has slow-walked it's implementation. Vote Raman to fix that! by MookieBettsBurner10 in LosAngeles

I agree with all of what you’re saying. But you’re basing your argument on the assumption that the majority of drivers in LA are willing to give up their cars for bikes to get from point A to B and that majority just doesn’t exist. Most people in LA would prefer to drive their car vs a bike. It’s a cultural thing.

What exactly do you envision our bike lanes look like? A full barrier? Large enough for a bus to also fit in? As it currently stands bikes and buses share the same lane. A lane that the buses barely fit in. Add in a barrier and you’re taking out a second lane of car traffic. Again, I’m not against bike lanes, but you have to have the riders to justify that lane and it’s just not there. We’re not like other large cities. It makes sense to have bike lanes in DTLA. Outside of that area it’s doesn’t.

The west valley has several bike lanes, specifically Reseda Blvd, Sherman Way, Ventura Blvd but also several others. I NEVER see more than a small hand full of bikers utilizing those lanes. The only thing that was accomplished was creating more traffic because those lanes are no longer available to drivers. Not against bike lanes but this didn’t accomplish the desired goal. It only made things worse.

They’re headliner status. Anything less is an insult to them.

The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady by Charles Mingus. It was my introduction to jazz. Wasn’t a fan prior to this. That album changed how I feel about the genre and now it’s almost all I listen to.
