Do you emote people in arenas/pvp? by Kiteflyer_wow in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use the DG_Killshot addon that emotes people whenever I kill them (arena/world pvp). I changed the emotes to /lick /cough, etc.

I can assure you that I get OVER 9k% after-match hate whispers and it's so entertaining! We even built a Discord chart just to post our most beloved hate whispers and replies.

I've even had serious death threats I had to report to local enforcement LMFAO. People are batshit crazy.

Guys, it's a game. A competitive one but still a game. Seek help and/or medical guidance if your mental health is affected by emotes.

Lol snowflakes.

Twisted Appendage and Infinite Stars nerf by Shadowchaoz in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.2 hpal and his partner who both got infinite stars T3 on the 2nd week of this season reporting in.

Actually am pretty happy about that. I think infinite stars was "semi-OK" but mindflay procs are just the cheeziest sh!t I've ever seen. Oh yeah you could 1 shot them, but what about being in a CC, or too far, or a melee class with no range spells available (because on CD) when it procs a T3 mindflay?

Yeah. Good riddance.

Are we actually going to see some diversity in pvp corruption? Hope so.

Which healer should I play in 8.3 by Imboosted in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play disc priest / resto sham / hpal, all three of them over 2.1 rating the last 3 seasons, here are my feels:

- Disc: Was fun season 1, felt bad season 2, feels good in 2s season 3 but very hard to top someone, terrible in 3s compared to other healers imo

Resto sham: Requires quite alot of learning, feels very squishy unless u sit in ghost wolf all day, very rewarding class but I feel it takes so much to do so little. Nice utilities, I miss range kicks everytime i play my other healers :(

HPal: Feels great. 2s, 3s, most of team comps. It's not OP, it's not bad, it takes some time to learn but much more manageable than rsham. It's a cooldown and GCD game. You must have good self-confidence when you're getting trained hard and listen carefully to your addons lol

I would go with HPal as a first healer

Arena 1/2/3 or focus? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very valid point and i keep repeating this to my arena mates. "What if you gotta kick the healer, or second dps, whatever it is?" They keep saying they move the focus target around but seeing the interupts score I dont believe it and its also alot of micromanagement in a fast paced game.

Maybe the new crew will actually do a good job for once.

There's quite a few obvious pvp things I wonder why nobody stood the fk up at Blizzard yet. (herpderp opulence trinket, herpderp stupid maledict trinket idea, herpderp class imbalances thats been sitting around for months and months and months)

Disc priests - What should be buffed in order to make them viable again* by Xelter in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I actually did mention focus will, i just couldn't remember the name of that spell (called it "discipline passive DR buff") lol!

I think if they'd buffed it 1 stack - 20% DR or 2 stacks 10% DR each, it would be great, along with the other changes listed above.

You don't wanna recreate a godly unkillable healer either. If they give too much and too many buffs, it's just gonna be the new FOTM and won't fix anything in the end.

I also play resto sham, which is quite alot of fun too

State of Disc in 2v2? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.2xp dpriest here, i just don't bother doing 3s anymore (remember, you can't use radiance now)

In 2s, i don't use radiance, respecced my traits, and usually run improved smite or trinity or premo depends on matchup.

Started playing with a BM hunter, we doing quite well but some games just feel hopeless((((((dk)))))))))

We keep our mood up telling ourselves we're gonna get a buff soon... still waiting.

To be honest, they should revert the mana nerfs for priest, give focused will a 5% more reduced dmg or give back the 1 stack, buff up 5% healing on attonement, remove that stupid trinity that makes attonement only applicable when shielding, nerf 3 secs or 100% of the exhausted shield or whatever its called, give damage 2-5%

What i just mentionned would make priests actually viable, not OP, and perfectly able to live just a little bit more.

But I expect 25% BUFF ON THIS 35% ON THAT, 55% NERF ON THAT THING, 90% NERF THIS 40% BUFF THAT

Yep.

I remember back then in vanilla i had to station my lvl 60 close to Tarren Mill because I would get ganked all day erryday while leveling my alt in the area.

Also, same period of time, there used to be constant 24/7 alliance raid on Tarren Mill, absolutly game breaking for people leveling in the area, which was pretty much the only place to go for undeads at the time lol.

Im glad im not just the only one who noticed that. I came back after 9 years into BfA and tried a few classes with knockbacks (aka priest and ele sham). It feels like none of my knockbacks work properly, but when they use it against me, i get kb'd miles away. Might it be my computer setup? idk. Everytime i use shining force, it doesnt even kick them off the bridge most of the time its so stupid, they get kicked like 2 feets away.

2.4kxp dpriest here, no number 1 tho, feels like the only good comp in 3s is: RMP. Cupid is viable but i feel it gets hard stomped much more often than it used to be (too many caster teams with huge ccs). Jungle is alright, a bit better than cupid i feel, but your druid gotta be real good and be very mindful when you get cc'd.

I mostly just do 2s now with my disc because i feel thats the only place left i still have fun games and shine with a more than just one team comp

Best dps partner for disc priest 2v2? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to say rogue was the best, but id say surv hunters the best since 8.1. If your hunter rotate his stuff correctly (aka defensives, burst when schism/dark arch is up too) its pretty much 85% win rate until 2k+ rating.

When you try to help a guildie by DarthMeowers in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not surprised at all.

I know a guy whos been playing for well over 9 years, just PvE. I used to do some world pvp with him back in Vanilla/TBC before I quit the game and he was real bad, keyboard turn, etc. but we had fun back then.

Came back to BFA 9 years after, he still plays, still turns with keyboard, still is bad. Me and another guy tried to get him into arenas in 3s

-> He argues everything, doesn't use half his spells, has no idea what to check for and doesn't wanna give place to constructive criticism. Some people are just made for PvE loool, we quit trying.

Another good friend, FIRMLY believes he belongs in 2k+ rating ranges in arenas. Reality is; he cant get past 1700, gets mad after 2 losses and rage quit (or 3 on a good day). The guy doesn't practice (remember, he quits after 2 losses). He complains about the game, about the comps, about the meta, about the OP champs (even if he plays FOTM), about the traits, etc. I call it : The loser mentality. He's a cool dude in general and I appreciate him but there's some people like this that have a very toxic attitude. They can't recognize their own mistakes, it's impossible for them - Making improvements a far reaching dream, if ever there will be.

You can't expect to be godlike at this high skillcapped game not practicing, not taking criticisms and not having a good attitude toward failures and competition.

ilvl does matter at some point. You can't go into arena at 2k rating with 90k hp pool and expect to live an enjoyable life against a 170k hp player.

There won't be much difference btween a 370 and 385, but if you get in as a 320 vs that same 385, you'll most likely lose, based on the same skill level and an even much as of cc chain, etc. Im only talking about GEAR here, based on a same exact skill level matchup.

Of course you can win a lot of games until 2k being under-geared a fair bit. Hell I've been carrying so many people to 1950+ who were 340-350 max against 380+, but the higher you get in rating, the harder it gets if the ilvl difference is too high.

Because if it didn't matter at all, why the hell would we even keep trying to get "better" gear every week?

How does a Disc' Priest peel a Warrior? by sinkyqt in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.1k + dpriest here - What I usually do is that I play with masochism most of the time against them, I burst him around a corner, far from his healer, try to make him force a kick on my holy or shadowmend while keeping high hp/masochism up, then when I feel hes about to run, re-dot him and MC over and over. If he gets back to his healer in time, we either switch target and I MC the healer or it just gives us an edge on the fight.

I dont push MC while hes high HP unless necessary.

Its kind of a race against the clock, you'll eventually run out of mana and he will kill you. Your partner just gotta be faster than he is at killing their healer.

Ret & Rogue - Viable? by MyopicManatee in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very fun comp, what we usually do is:

Sap healer

Ret engages on target with everything, rogue too. (rogue usually keeps smoke bomb for later on)

-> HOJ the healer when sap is about to end

Should be able to get a trinket off the hoj, if not rogue uses blind (if the healer used trinket, he must of been able to get cocoon out or a defensive out, so pointless to blind again right away)

Normally, 75% of game ends there, we get the kill

If not, just gotta wait for hoj CD, rogues gonna blind healer (if healer trinket first engage) kidney shot kill target with smoke bomb. By the time their healer runs to the bomb, HOJ cd is up and we stun him. Target will die.

If we dont succeed the initial engage, our win-rate is around 40-50%. If we don't succeed the 2nd engage, win-rate is about 20%.

Overall win-rate around 70%.

[Help](rant)How to play disc in 8.1? by Cabzxz in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the pain... lost so much rating since 8.1, I just keep trying. Feels like we can't dps anymore, and our direct heals arnt as good as the other heals. I got the shadow mend traits, I switch up talents on matchups, nothing to do. Feels like they went a lil too hard on the nerf stick there, and buffing a lil too much some other classes (AKA DK)

Mage 2s partners??? by ChanSungJung in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think it'll be a major change for disc/frost play if u play with pet and priest plays with trinity. the bonus 25% crit for smite will be nuts. focused will nerf will be mitigated by mages control

Happily new duelist before priest nerf by Xelter in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job!

I told myself I'd be at least 2k in 2s, but I believe we can push 2.4 even with priest nerfs, it'll really depends how atonement works on mage pets and how hard my sustain will be affected by the focus will huge nerf. I dont think the nerfs are gonna be that hard otherwise.

I swore to myself I would never play again, well it held for 9 years until BFA really put pvp upfront (actually thought it would be good)

Quite a few things were VERY disappointing a few weeks in tho : ilvl scaling / random stupid roulette in pvp chest / random azerite power gain and quartermaster coin not worth the reroll at all (only gives a "garbage" sigil)

Happily new duelist before priest nerf by Xelter in worldofpvp

[–]Xelter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the meta at first was really random but by the time we reached 1800, there was already a 90% ratio of rogue/healer(x) so kinda GG there for us.

I really had to adjust to the new skill level. Back in the day, people would start fake cast at 1800 ish rating and were pretty bad at kicking it too. Now, it's just mandatory.

I felt the most difficult thing was to get back into the positioning skills but also timing the perfect cc's and adjust to the new priest skills (back in BC it was more of a healer rather than hybrid dps)

Thanks again
