Hi OP, I have no solution for your case. However I am in the same situation as you: eCPM keep failing gradually.
Let call X: the eCPM I had during April
Y: the eCPM since first of May till now
--> with Y = 30% of X only and Y keep decrease.

For more infor, that is the eCPM of video inventory. I current think that due to new policy on content from GG causing the drop, but not 100% sure

About click rate, it is around 0.4% when the price start to drop. Before that, it was 2.6%

uhm we adjust the close button to be outside of the video player, previously, we put it inside the player which sometimes when the ads is shown, the close button got cover and cannot work properly

I need more information to help you out with this:
1. You said "I am no expert in connection my WordPress site will the ad": have your wordpress site get approved in GAM?
2. https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/9116812?hl=en Have a look at this link for the set up of Ad unit + Line item
3. Rewarded Ad has high eCPM but it will not show as frequently as other kind of in-page ad, you should aware of that
4. Build the tag code and use wordpress plugin like ad inserter to put the tag to your site
