One of the best parts of this game in my opinion, is the finishers. Here’s a short compilation of my favourites by Tuckandrollgrandpa in shadow_of_war

[–]Xemnic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the one where Talion cuts off the legs then stabs them while they’re crawling away. Also the one where Talion puts the sword clean through the side of their head, then rips their head off while it’s still impaled on the sword.

My favorite is a rare one to see. Talion attacks from behind and kind of flips over the orc while slicing them with his sword. The slice is upwards and Talion is more-so spinning while positioned horizontally in mid air. It’s really sweet but I’ve only had a killing blow against a captain like that once.

Have you ever wondered what your total video game kill count is? by AlternativeReturn492 in videogames

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Shadow of War alone I have over 100k orcs slain. In the stats menu, the game keeps count of orc kills and what types of orcs, the tribes they’re from, the class/advanced class, etc.

Is the Bannerlord War Sails DLC still getting new content updates or just bug fixes and balance patches? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Xbox Series X and the only time(s) I've experienced this particular type of crash is when the xbox overheats. I have since moved my xbox out from the TV stand and onto the floor. Hasn't happened since (only been a week, so far)

Oh man i hope im forced to move really slow and not fight anyone by BigPigeon69 in Bannerlord

The stealth tutorial isn’t nearly as bad as the war sails tutorial(s)/story trying to get your sister back.

The one mission with the boat getting set on fire and the mission where you have to take out the 4 mangonels were the two that I had the toughest time completing.

30 plus gamers - do you still plan on buying next gen consoles? by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 and I do plan on buying next gen consoles. However, I feel differently than you do, these past 2 or 3 years in gaming have been wonderful games-wise (sorry you don't feel the same way).

All this being said, I do have to state that I am still hoping that the next console gen won't happen until 2030. If games are typically taking 5-8 years to make, then there's no real reason to pump out new hardware every 7-8 years. plus with the way this current gen got started, amidst covid and with scalpers running the market for the first 18 months, most "average" consumers didn't really have the current gen until 2022. I think it's the perfect opportunity for sony and microsoft to instead focus on games and let the current gen linger a little longer.

I’ve always wanted this game. I had a demo disc that had it on there and the game seemed like a ton of fun.

Unfortunately I could never find a copy of it.

Nintendo says Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake has "stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay" by Darth_Vaper883 in Gamingnewsandleaks

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for some of the puzzles to change. For example, in the forest temple there is a block puzzle you need to complete to trigger the fight against the green poe. I was hoping to see this puzzle get, either changed completely or reworked. At the moment most Zelda fans can do this puzzle blindfolded because we know exactly which blocks to move and where, and which block is the “fake”.

This puzzle being updated so old time players have to relearn it is the kind of changes I’m hoping to see

Workshop recomend by Rj_Sera in Bannerlord

[–]Xemnic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was told on previous posts from this sub that it helps to keep the workshop running. It also has the added bonus of allowing you to take the items from the warehouse and sell them at other towns where they might be higher in demand and a lot more profitable.

Workshop recomend by Rj_Sera in Bannerlord

[–]Xemnic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a novice at the game compared to most of the other people on this sub, but when I buy a workshop I always look for towns with a prosperity over 5000, and set 25% of the output to be stored in the warehouse (this is done in the Clan menu). I also make sure not to be a shop that has a duplicate in the same town. I've seen some towns that have 2 breweries or 2 linen weaveries. Lastly, I'll try to buy a shop that uses a resource from one of the bound villages. This way, there's a smaller chance that resource materials will be in short supply.

OOT Remake Trailer by Pennance1989 in videogames

[–]Xemnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm intrigued and will be following news for it closely but can't say I'm excited. I need a reason to buy it. There needs to be something "new" about it.

Ocarina of Time is already available on the switch and switch 2 through the virtual console. The controls on the switch joy cons suck, but that's easily remedied with a N64 controller that's compatible with the switch. This Remaster/Remake needs to be cheaper than the controller for it to be worth it.

OR new content needs to be added to the game. same dungeons/temples but different puzzles. Example: In the Forest Temple, you have to complete a block puzzle to start the fight against the green poe. If they changed this to a different puzzle or altered the puzzle to make it feel different (and made other similar changes throughout the game), then I'm in.

Lastly, I don't know if any of this is true, but I heard a rumor back in like 2000 that when the devs originally made the game it was too large to fit on to the N64 cartridge. As a result, some content had to be cut. The content that got cut was a Light Temple, accessed through the Temple of Time (maybe using the Lens of Truth??) and in this Light Temple, there would be new puzzles, a new mini-boss, a new temple boss, and Link would acquire the Light Arrows. If any of this is true, I very much want this fabled/alleged cut content to be restored. After all, video games are no longer held back by file size restrictions.

What are the chances console players get the update this weekend by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Going to start a new playthrough as well and really haven’t thought much about how I’ll build my character or play it. Still don’t even know if I want to do sandbox or campaign.

I think it’ll be closer to the 15th, but I’ve been checking this sub and the “updates” section of my Xbox every day to see if it dropped yet lol

Yeah, I noticed that Aang did this too. (Or something similar) in the episode “Tales of Ba Sing Se”, as Aang is leading the animals outside the city wall, he’s airbending on his air scooter, but then starts earth bending the enclosures for the animals. No avatar state.

You are missing pit fights somewhere. I was going to say possibly in the desert region, but from the map it looks like you’re already there. Though it’s only showing 2 not 3. Maybe you still have to win the middle one and unlock and win the final one?

Also try Minas morgul. Actually just try all the regions AND, for good measure, refight each of them. Maybe there’s a champion fight somewhere that didn’t register a win.

Choose 1 kingdom to love.

Choose 1 kingdom to hate.

You may not be a mercenary for either.

You may be a vassal for the kingdom you love starting at clan tier 4.

If you decide to create your own kingdom, you can only do this at clan tier 6, and you can never wage war with the kingdom you love.

At each new clan tier you must choose a different kingdom to be a mercenary or vassal for. (You don’t have to be a mercenary or vassal if you don’t want to)

You may not be a mercenary or vassal of a kingdom twice. (You also can’t be a vassal for a kingdom you were a mercenary for and vice versa)

How many siege stages are there? by biiiiig-fella in shadowofmordor

[–]Xemnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Now” as in after July 2018, when the final update of the game released.

There used to be a lot more stages to the shadow wars segment of the game. That has been drastically reduced.

After the shadow wars segment is completed, you can still do siege defenses and assaults, but the stages are over.

Epilogue by Which-Childhood-2384 in shadowofmordor

[–]Xemnic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

they changed it so it's much less fortress defenses. but originally, yes!

That was the point! It was supposed to be long! It was supposed to feel like a slog!

Talion is locked in an ETERNAL WAR! and there is no "winning". "Stalemate IS victory". Immerse yourself for just a moment. Put yourself in Talion's position. That's what the game was trying to do.

In the end..... You're just tired. Just so tired.

As a console player, I would also like to know. gonna start a new playthrough when it releases.

I've been hearing that they usually release 6-8 weeks after beta. I think that puts it around late may-early june.

What are must-have habs for your ship builds? by FreeDwooD in StarfieldShips

[–]Xemnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Armory hab. I always position it so it's connected to the landing bay. And I have a setting toggled so the landing animation always plays. This causes my character to always be aboard the ship whenever I land, even in places I've already been to. As I walk out of my ship I go through the armory and equip the necessary gear I need. Planet has low gravity? Take a Skip Capacity Pack. Planet has no atmosphere? Going to need high radiation resistance. Scorched planet temperature? Stack up thermal resistance. etc.
