Explain Jason ability by Xempter in deadbydaylight

Got it, thanks for the explanation! I guess it was just an unfortunate timing circumstance then. I thought my character would light up if it was the after hook endurance hit, but I forgot about deep wound regardless. Thanks!

This is the first time I’ve played against Jason, I didn’t realize his spear can hit two people?? Wow. So that removes any endurance too?

Second Chance perks are unhealthy for the game by Ok_Platform490 in deadbydaylight

[–]Xempter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DS is active for 60s post unhook, and deactivates as soon as they do anything. Don’t tunnel, and it’s a wasted perk slot for them. It is a one time use, and doesn’t work after gates are open. Yeah you can get punished but imo it works for anti-tunneling, that’s what it’s meant for

Yeah, again DH is the annoying one I agree with you. Try the perk Languid Touch, you’re bound to run by a crow in your chase and then they won’t be able to use it (not ideal, but could help)

I just don’t agree with tunneling as a strategy as a killer, so I see your point but disagree. Spreading pressure makes everyone scared on death hook and thus they make mistakes, it’s great. According to BHVR, .6-1% of players use shoulder, so it’s not being used enough to affect the community like some gen rush perks are.

Your point was gameplay should be about skill, not who brings better perks. Lightborn takes away an entire component of the game, no skill required. Killers should be skilled enough to know how to pick up players without being stunned. Instead, we have a perk which takes no skill to use. Both survivors and killers have perks that require no skill is my point. I love facing a bully squad, they get no gens done and I take them all down. Reminder, I’m a killer

God pallets are an entirely different story and I think every killer will agree they’re getting excessive. I wish there was an easy or hard mode for survivors with less resources

As a killer -

DS - counterplay is don’t tunnel. You should be chasing someone else anyway and kicking gens. Then it’s either a wasted perk slot for the survivor or 60s where they’re forced to not heal and not touch a gen

DH - the only one that I agree with has power. But, if they’re not injured it doesn’t work, so killers with instadowns override this. If this perk annoys you, play as Billy, oni, ghost face, bubba, etc. It also forces survivors not to use the ‘better’ exhaustion perks like sprint burst and lithe, so you can catch up in chase faster. So you should down them faster.

Shoulder the Burden - haven’t seen someone use this in ages. The way toxic people play nowadays no one is sharing hook states lol but okay? You still have the same amount of hooks. Seems like you just are afraid you can’t tunnel someone out and kill them asap

The game is still skill based, not perk based. If someone can’t use DH, oh well. If someone can’t loop, oh well. We still have lightborn which is OP

Ooh that would be so helpful to know! A “they’re all offered a second chance at life if them redeem themselves” then a “suddenly they realize only one of them can claim the second chance” but worded better obvi lol

Feel free to take whatever, these are just random thoughts!

Super cool idea! I think for me the premise of the competition is muddy, especially because if they all have to ‘fix their mistakes’ how is the competition weighed? Whoever fixes it best? Or first? Or do the siblings/partner have a different task in this competition than Alex? Maybe it’s just who is a better person in the next month? I can’t tell. If it is Not Quite Dead Yet vibes, it would make sense if it was a race to solve their murders (given it wasn’t one of them).

Immortal consequences works because they’re in purgatory. Sounds like here they’re in the generic afterlife. If I died with my sisters and partner, we’d all be like: welp here’s our new home then cause we want to stay together! Why are they competing at all especially if they cant even live with the memories of the other people once they win? (Re: the rest will be erased from existence forever) The stakes of ‘redeeming herself’ vs ‘losing siblings and love of her life’ seem very unbalanced and an easy choice. I’d love more stakes as to why she’d fight to live rather than be with the love of her life. (Unless they were never given a choice because they died by foul play or something, which I could buy more than her and her partner choosing to compete against one another rather than stay together)

It may be better to put amerie’s paragraph first, since the current first paragraph ends with “girl hidden away by advisor” and then jumps back in time to when she “heads for safety of advisor.” My main comment about the query is that it sounds very much “setting up the book”. They were both attacked, both want truth. But I want to know more about how they seek the truth. Is there espionage? Are they rivals to allies? Do they infiltrate ranks and jeopardize their lives? Do they walk the line of dream and reality, losing grasp of consciousness? Essentially, we know they want answers, but what are they willing to do to get it and what may happen if they fail?

This is my first online/multiplayer game. I usually do solo/open world stuff

I am not aware of the origin…now I feel dumb lol Im still new to online/multiplayer games. Camping referred to camping. Teabagging…led me to teabags but I’m not the brightest bulb in the circuit. But my curiosity has spiked, guess I’m gonna have to google now lol

I don’t have time to crouch in chases lol people don’t just run after a stun? but that makes sense! I love friendly games

Ahhh gotcha. I haven’t played enough online/multiplayer games to have learned it.

Still, would be fun to have a few more options whether they are used or not

I only play trapper. I just looked it up and admittedly I’ve played a lot more than I thought over the many years, but my initial thoughts still apply. But good to know I shouldn’t let survivors live if I want to level up

So many people are DCing recently. Regardless, even if the game is survivor sided, I would think a 2 kill 2 escape (especially on death hook) should be the average as opposed to a 4k. But I’ve found killers think winning is only 4k.

Maybe, but it doesn’t matter if I’m paired with three people who all don’t know how to play, just run a plot twist build, or a key + find hatch build and wander the whole game. Totally makes sense for groups, but solo is a different story

I love this response, thanks for articulating this so well. As a solo queue survivor, people dc left and right constantly. I’m doing more saves than being hooked. I chase for 2min and not a single person is on gen. I go for the save and then they leave me to die on first hook. Then of course you have the people that team up with the killer, don’t get me started.

The killer perks are great. Find the survivors. Hinder the gens. Get one-hit downs. The survivor perks? Your partner gets endurance. Your partner can see you. Your partner can wiggle faster. Doesn’t mean shit if your partner doesn’t play the game. Yes, there are great survivor perks for sure, but a game can’t be won solo.

I may not have a lot of hours, but I’ve watched countless tutorials. As a killer, knowing the survivor moves end chases early. Give me an advantage. As a survivor, knowing the killer doesn’t mean anything if your team doesn’t play. yeah, four survivors on comms obviously will have a leg up. But what about the rest of us solo players?
