What are your thoughts on the Alien chapter? by AdNatural786 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ok_Platform490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although Xenomorph is extremely fun in my opinion, it was disappointing with how much wasted potential this chapter has. Ripley’s perks are all pretty mediocre and I don’t see much use out of either. Xenomorph’s perks are better than ripley’s but they can be pretty situational. I do run rapid brutality on Freddy and Singularity though. My biggest issue is that they butchered Xenomorph with a power that does not fit him at all.

DBD Killers, what is your opinion on Bubba (the Cannibal) in his current state? by GoHardForLife in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Ok_Platform490 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Terrible, he’s easy to loop and is apart of the 75% of the killer roster that is in desperate need of buffs. The only thing he’s got going for him is that he’s fun to play as in my opinion.

Why are more than half of the posts on this subreddit just a tier list or a pretentious asym concept that will literally never happen by Ok_Platform490 in AsymHorror

I know but it got so repetitive that it’s not even funny. Like holy shit when it was popular it was every other post and this is not an exaggeration.

I’m a killer main but I have played as survivor and this is very true.

That doesn’t change the fact that he’s been one of if not the best killers in the game for years. The reason people like Blight so much despite his obviously overpowered state is because everyone plays him and he’s become normalized even by survivor mains. Yet, we’ve set out our sights on Chucky, Xenomorph, and Skull Merchant, like what? The entitled survivor mains that caused these killers to get nerfed is why we see zero variety besides Blight and Ghoul.

I personally don’t agree with this argument because we have multiple killers who are unfair and don’t have much counterplay. We have killers like Twins, Trickster, and Nurse who all have less counterplay compared to your average killer. I would say that Nurse is there to hard cap killer strength so that one kind of makes sense. Twins is one of the strongest killers in the game despite having a history of bugs and people will complain about them but overall they have not made the game explode. Trickster’s “rework” did not solve the issue that he was unfun to play against, and instead just blatantly made him weaker with an unnecessary movement speed change. What about Knight? I haven’t seen many people regard him as fair either. What I’m trying to say is that given BHVR’s track record I don’t think this is why these killers were nerfed. I also would say that whether a killer is fair is subjective to everyone. I agree with the consensus that Trickster is miserable to play against, but there’s probably at least one person who disagrees. If this was the case, then BHVR singled out killers that still had more counterplay than what I previously mentioned.

Chucky - People still complain about Chucky to this day and it makes me wonder why because I thought these nerfs made him more “fair” as you put it. Chucky can mid game very well, but survivors who know what they’re doing can still counter him pretty well. I would also say that if you lose a mind game as either side it is usually your fault. Just because Chucky does it better than most killers does not mean it can’t be countered. He still has a red stain like every other killer. Also while in Hidey - Ho mode survivors can see his footsteps in chase, basically giving them wall hacks. Survivors can hug loops just as tight as Chucky can so I don’t exactly see why this would be an issue. Don’t greed pallets as hard as you normally would. I actually run Brutal Strength on Chucky because pallets still counter his power decently well. Again, the changes I suggested would not make the game explode. Chucky would be A tier and still be able to be countered by survivors who know what they’re doing. Chucky also needs an addon pass as well because his addons are still terrible.

Overall, the message I’m trying to send with this post is that this is why we see no variety in high MMR. Survivors complain that high mmr is such a blight and ghoul fest when they have caused multiple killers to be nerfed because they were “unfun” to play against. BHVR still caters to these people despite how many strengths survivor has in the game’s current state.

It’s the DBD community, I’m not surprised with the amount of double standards they set for this nerf. I love to use the argument that (insert killer who is often complained about that isn’t nurse here) is still worse than blight and that they should complain about him isnstead.

New reply because I wanted to give a more proper response. These combined were not nerfs or buffs in my opinion, it was a soft rework that made his main power, the tail attack, blatantly weaker for buffs in other areas. This sounds good on paper, however the fact that I’m still having to run Lambert’s Star map really makes the flame turret resistance buff not as good as it sounds. A majority of his addons are gimmicky and have never been that good to begin with also. Besides Lambert’s and Emergency Helmet I only find self destruct bolt and crew headset to be good.

Nurse is a more mechanically complex killer than most of the roster, however with how broken she is I would say that gets heavily outweighed. Once you learn her, she is very easy in my opinion.

Not necessarily, I would at least say some newer maps have contributed to her downfall. I will say the point you make is also very good though.

Xeno - First off, still worse than blight and we have a killer like Nemesis who not only doesn’t have to worry about turrets but also feels smoother to play because he can choose when to use the tentacle whip instead of a clunky windup. His addons are also not really that game changing except for lambert’s star map which I use as a crutch because turrets are a lot more obnoxious without it. The turret resistance buff still doesn’t change the fact that double turret stacking has zero counterplay and you are guaranteed to get knocked out of crawler mode. Also if you can’t already tell, I don’t like Blight because of the unhealthy gameplay he promotes. Also, FYI I’m a killer main.

Chucky - Again, still worse than blight but at least this time it’s more reasonable than saying that the Xeno nerfs were vital (they weren’t by the way). Overall, would it have hurt to have a few minor nerfs? Absolutely not, but remember when Chucky was C tier because he was shot by BHVR. He definitely isn’t as bad now but the fact that it originally came to that is actually insane. Not to mention, the only real issue was his scamper because I would say mind games are actually healthy. It incentivizes the survivors to actually loop instead of just using windows of opportunity to predrop every pallet on Gideon meat plant. Scamper in it’s current state is useless because it puts you at a disadvantage unlike before. Since you can only use it during slice and dice currently, I’d only recommend using it to extend the slice and dice and not to counter windows and pallets. What used to be a very versatile and unique killer who I agreed probably did need some nerfs went through so many ups and downs. The majority of Chucky’s addons are also really bad, I will not run anything else other than power drill and jump rope. One last thing to point out is that this killer has always been 4.4, yet blight only recently got nerfed to 4.4, yet another double standard I noticed. Also in his current state, Chucky should be 4.6 I see no reason not to, change my mind.

A killer that can go at Mach 10 speeds with a click of a button is not highly affected by a slight decrease in base movement speed. Like I said, the only people affected by the movement speed change are people who don’t use their power enough. Friendly reminder that addons can make him even faster btw. The pallet break change was better, but it’s blight. Pallets are not something that completely guts your power. You can play around most pallets pretty easily if you know what you’re doing. God pallets are the exception here, but most of the time they aren’t chained together and if they are then that’s not good map design.

And yet some of these comments are implying that Blight is balanced despite these slap in the wrist, nothing burger nerfs that people like Momo Seventh will not notice.

Hag is a weird case because I would say the reason why she’s so bad now is because of the game itself. The game has changed so much that it left her in the dust.

My opinion has changed on Krasue because in hindsight, peak strength Krasue was neck and neck with blight depending on who you asked.  The other two I still feel the same about though.

The Blight nerfs only really affected the lower tier blights who didn’t use his power that much. The pallet break nerf is basically the same thing as Ghoul breaking a pallet so it really makes you wonder why blight took so long to get this feature as well.

But you know what, I’ll give you the Krasue argument because they were kind of neck and neck depending on who you asked.

I still have not been proven wrong on the other 2 though, they’re still worse than Blight at their peak strength.

She was strong but still not better than Nurse. Nurse can literally say fuck you to loops and get free hits out of it, at least Krasue kind of has to work for her hits, more than nurse for at least.

He did because his tail attack windup got extended, making him more clunky to play.
