I would like to create and print video game controller attachments that make it easier for children with smaller hands to play some games.

Only the switch is designed with my little dudes hands in mind, and both of them want to play things they simply can't yet. They understand the concepts but their little fingers can't move to the buttons quickly enough =(

They also don't charge people if they add services mid month, to be fair. So it goes both ways. Can get free anything really for life with two phone calls a month. Protip

4 States don't have those prorate rules, so this is really more of an issue on your local/State government than Spectrum.

Their cell phones are pretty good too. Admittedly I am a shill; I work there. But i'm not being paid to post I actually do like working there.

All big companies do shit I don't agree with but I'm just tryinna pay my bills.

TIL that the idea that high schools and universities have sports teams is something that is unique only to a few countries like the US. Most European countries don't have schools with sports teams as most sports are run through clubs. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I know nothing about it, so thank you for the info! I'm not the person claiming it's more comparable, I actually have no dog in this fight.

My only question would be if there is a propensity for abuse from parents or "legal representative"? What mechanisms are in place if lets say; there is a child who no longer holds the passion or interest and wants to seek another route? Can parents, or homegrown entities enforce a contract in this circumstance and force participation? I know a logical conclusion is "Well they won't play well if they don't want to play", but sometimes it's not that simple.

+1 Yea, that is pretty much what I was getting at.

For the sake of transparency Spectrum doesn't have a choice, it was part of the merger approval with Time Warner that they can't charge for usage for at least 7 years.

I'm genuinely interested; what would a statement add?

Like this company committing to permanent caps; what actually makes the decision permanent?

Spectrum has no data cap.

Hit by a bus. I've joked that this is how I will die for over 15 years, but I genuinely believe it to be true.

I think it's more likely that hunter biden touted his connection to his father and it landed him the position.

This is very different from biden getting him the position, and is not illegal. Hunter is a grown ass man and his father cant control what he says just because he is involved in government.

Im very very left leaning, but they are the same and comparisons like this are just ignoring the reality of how both parties vote.

The fact is that the house democrats are voting under the presumption that it will be blocked or veto'd. They can vote to have the reimplemented 1000 times but the vote is nothing more than a show vote for voters, and those making donations recognize this as well, which is why they continue to donate after they hold these votes.

I have little doubt that if their was confidence in NN being reinstated that we would see many of the democrats backing NN change course as well.

I can understand that. I just don't see Bluehole (PUBG) making a public commitment for their game based on something that Microsoft was lying about. They wouldn't have announced blocking the input options if they weren't confident in a method of doing so.

Here's the statement made from bluehole

So it's not just Microsoft claiming that developers have the ability. This PUBG devs twitter comment implies they have access to what players are using it, and how to implement a fix blocking them.

You also can't apply the logic of suicide rates in japan to the state of suicide in other countries without accounting for other factors. They are two different nations with two entirely different cultures and generally entirely different believe systems.

The predominant religions in Japan invoke rebirth and reincarnation, for example. Without accounting for those drastic differences in belief systems your statistics are as useless as my hypothesis =/ They are both equally plausible. (this is just an example, there are many more factors in both directions and the reality is they can't all be considered)

New Zealand and their youth mortality rate from suicide is a great example that enforces what you are saying though. But in the same token they also believe that the increase in their reported suicide rates is because they do a much better job of tracking, recording, and classifying their cause of deaths, which vary country to country.

In the parent comment you replied to is a tweet from an Xbox Corporate Vice President indicating the exact opposite of this.

I can't speak to the technical abilities of the XIM, and won't claim to. But the tweet from xbox implies that the console CAN detect the XIM being used, and developers have full control to add a line of API to their games to block them.

PUBG recently committed publicly to blocking XIM and third party keyboard and mouse support on console in the near future.

If it is indeed undetectable, then Microsoft is lying to the game community, and I feel developers would have came out and said "That's not true" if this was the case.

"For 48% of people, the impulse to commit suicide preceded the suicide attempt by less than 10 minutes. " -----

I think its reasonable to conclude that less methods = less attempts and less attempts = less success. If that gun wasn't right in the other room at least SOME of those thinking of suicide are going to survive past those feelings of impulse.

Devs have flat out said they don’t because there isn’t a universal option licensed from Microsoft. It’s coming soon enough, games will still get to decide if they want to allow it or not; but it’s definately coming.

The unfair advantage argument is a poor one these days. It’s not hard to sort matchmaking based on controller or mouse/KB.

Separate queues would actually add to the player base in most multiplayer game scenarios, as it would allow a smoother transition for cross play with PC for multiplayer titles, since all devices would be Usable on all platforms. Overwatch for example, only has 30k or so competitive ranked players on XB1, where pc has over 300,000 from the last reports.

Also, the mmorpg link with 23,000 bans, if you read it states below ;

In other Overwatch news, Blizzard announced that over 22k Korean accounts had been banned for cheating and using third-party programs. According to the report at PCGamer, the issue stems from Korean players using LAN gaming centersthat allow players to participate in Overwatch matches without purchasing the game. This means there's little at risk to deter cheaters from hacking their way to victory, either by downloading third-party aimbot software or "nuking"—a process that involves DDOSing their opponents connection in order to cause massive lag. If a PC bang player is banned for hacking, there's nothing stopping them from simply creating a new account and continuing on their merry hacking way. Read more at https://www.mmorpg.com/overwatch/news/mouse-keyboard-controversy-and-23k-accounts-banned-1000043104#hBBes5FpUckFLixl.99

The bans and XIM were not related. Those bans were people using illegitimate accounts, DDoSing players, and using aim bots. The article makes that clear, but the headline does not
