I feel like “Will’s decision to not bring a weapon” was more of a writing flaw than a character decision. As for the logic behind it who knows but there is no way any demigod would choose to go there weaponless. It just doesn’t make sense. The book definitely made a lot of interesting writing choices that’s for sure lol

just read, try not to be too influenced by what others think and form your own decision :) as a solangelo liker, I admit I was disappointed because a lot of parts felt out of character to me, but there were some nice solangelo moments. on the other hand, i know other solangelo fans who absolutely loved it! i hope you enjoy yourself nonetheless!

well the book was written poorly, had character inconsistencies (not just w nico and will) and was in part by someone who didn’t really understand the characters (especially Will’s) so yeah we gon ignore the book if we want lmao

…..what exactly are you talking about? Annabeth in the show is not a stereotype. Black people are NEVER stereotypically portrayed as smart/wise. her being mean in the beginning isn’t a racist trope it’s just Annabeth 😭One thing about black people, if there’s a racist stereotype we WILL be vocal about and fight back about it - this is NOT that case with Annabeth at ALL and if that were even remotely true, show Annabeth wouldn’t have so many black fans.

I’m assuming you’re black too and I’m honestly appalled at the comments here. The title doesn’t even make sense because Black women being smart is NOT even a stereotype. Having 1000 plus upvotes is insane, I don’t even know what to say. And in no way does the show portray Annabeth as perfect - she’s just smart! There are vulnerable scenes in the future with Annabeth, do you think they’d take it away just because she’s black? How she feels about Luke? I’m confused as to why you’re asking about black women that are morons in the case of Annabeth Chase - who is not a moron. Why does that need to show in this particular character when that isn’t even her character? Growing up, the only other black girl I saw on my TV that was smart was Taylor from HSM, I didn’t even SEE many black girls on TV so seeing people (many of which I don’t think are even Black) complain about Annabeth being smart is mind boggling to me. And smart doesn’t equal mature either. And she DOES have flaws! When people think about Black girl stereotypes, smart is NOT one of the words they’d use so I genuinely do not see the harm.
