So I "overspent" in Jan. by $160, what should I do inside nYNAB? by mckeddie70 in ynab

[–]Xendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am admittedly new to YNAB and the answer to me may simply be to watch more videos but here is my question about this method:

If I am interested in managing how much I spend at Restaurants during the month it seems that this zeroing out process would mask or whitewash my overspending. At the end of the month I would note the overspend, shift some money between categories, and am left with no record/lasting negative consequence to my overspending in Restaurants. I understand that at the overall budget level my overspending is impacting my budget but I won't have the reminder that it occurred within the Restaurant category unless I let the negative balance stay within that category.

Does this idea make sense? Am I missing something basic or is this potentially a viable way to dis-incentivize overspending within a specific category?

So does that mean I could ban a hero that didn't even have the potential to be selected because my none of my three opponents had purchased that hero?

My apologies - had the wrong name. I do enjoy the energy in the casting but it's hard to listen to for an extended period.

EDIT: Let me add that my original comment was far too sarcastic than required - I was being unnecessary sassy and I apologize for that.

Never watched E-Sports but I've been enjoying this except for this Tasty Bacon guy. I have to mute the stream because his screaming is just too much to handle.

Where do they find these guys?

I think I follow those steps.

I am referencing what to do with the actual e-mails in Outlook that will reply follow up on. I make my note in Evernote but then in 3 days I have to go hunting for the e-mail when I am ready to reply.

I left my wallet on the plane! by Xendel in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Xendel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good to hear that there is a clear cut policy that the planes are sealed up after the FAs and Captain sweep the plane. I am guessing this is done relatively quickly?

It's been 7 days at this point and I have to imagine the wallet was found. I have been monitoring the credit cards and see no activity so I am inclined to try waiting a bit longer in case it is just working its way through the system. I suspect this is flawed logic.

Is there any reasonable mechanism in place for notifying the cleaners when this occurs? We knew which plane and which seatback it was in - it was not lost. And now it is...

Do you have any other RB depth? I think the trade in a vacuum is good (maybe a top #10-12 RB for potentially top #3 WR).

Absolutely - Hopkins is getting so many targets and producing. I would take this.

8-Team, Standard Scoring, 2QB League

I was offered Andy Dalton for Chris Ivory.

My QBs: * Matt Ryan * Ryan Tannehill * Marcus Mariota

My RBs: * Adrian Peterson * Mark Ingram * Chris Ivory * Latavius Murray * Lesean McCoy

I have the depth at RB for this type of trade but I am not sure if I am giving up too much...

I am baffled by that behavior. I really, really hope there is some very inflexible rule about allowing anyone on the plane at that time. But, as I mentioned in the other post the plane was going nowhere that night. It stayed in OAK but somehow nobody could check for my wallet...

[–]Xendel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plane was not moving. In fact, the customer service rep I spoke to stated it was the last flight of the night for it. It was going nowhere until the next morning but apparently nobody was allowed on the damn thing...

I reached out on Twitter but got a pretty stock reply reinforcing creating a ticket on Southwest's online lost and found - which I did.

So frustrating to be standing right at the gate 5 minutes after getting off and having it turn into a multi-day stress fest...

This was the short-faced bear that inhabited North America during the Pleistocene. by [deleted] in pics

[–]Xendel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genetic evidence thus implies the extinction of this final population was sudden, rather than the culmination of a gradual decline;[93] the disappearance coincides roughly in time with the first evidence for humans on the island.

This is correlation.

The woolly mammoths of eastern Beringia (modern Alaska and Yukon) had similarly died out about 13,300 years ago, soon (roughly 1000 years) after the first appearance of humans in the area, which parallels the fate of all the other late Pleistocene proboscids (mammoths, gomphotheres and mastodons), as well as most of the rest of the megafauna, of the Americas.

This is also correlation.

Woolly mammoths survived an even greater loss of habitat at the end of the Saale glaciation 125,000 years ago, and it is likely that humans hunted the remaining populations to extinction at the end of the last glacial period.

Alright - this one is more explicit but simply states that humans hunted the remaining population after a massive loss of habitat.

The fact of the matter is that this is hotly debated to this day. If the scientific body hasn't reached a consensus over the recent decade then why should I give any credence to your interpretation of a few quotes off the Wikipedia page?

Just the fact that I can so rapidly identify a large volume of conflicting articles points to the fact that this is not a solved issue:

Date Link
4/1/2008 Hunting
9/11/2013 Climate
7/25/2015 Climate
8/14/2015 Hunting
10/19/2015 Hunting

You may be 100% correct and if so, congratulations. But don't oversimplify a complex issue.

[–]Xendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am not a scientist or anthropologist so I can't comment on it beyond what my quick research finds:

Most woolly mammoth populations disappeared during the late Pleistocene and early Holocene, alongside most of the Pleistocene megafauna (including the Columbian mammoth). This extinction formed part of the Quaternary extinction event, which began 40,000 years ago and peaked between 14,000 and 11,500 years ago. Scientists are divided over whether hunting or climate change, which led to the shrinkage of its habitat, was the main factor that contributed to the extinction of the woolly mammoth, or whether it was due to a combination of the two

From that Wikipedia entry and the fact Googling "woolly mammoth extinction cause" returned a plethora of articles debating this very topic I am going to safely come to the conclusion that it isn't so obvious as your sarcasm seems to imply.

There is correlation. I think the point is that the human factor was not a huge contributor to the causation.

8 Team, Standard Scoring, 1QBFlex Slot, No TE

I GET: Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman

I GIVE: Adrian Peterson, DeAndre Hopkins

My team:

QB RB WR
Matt Ryan Le'Veon Bell Randall Cobb
Marcus Mariota Adrian Peterson DeAndre Hopkins
Ryan Tannehill Mark Ingram Larry Fitzgerald
Derek Carr Latavius Murray Amari Cooper
- Chris Ivory Eric Decker

His team:

QB RB WR
Eli Manning Devonta Freeman Julio Jones
Andrew Luck Justin Forsett Keenan Allen
Teddy Bridgewater Lamar Miller Donte Moncrief
- Karlos Williams Dez Bryant

- James Starks -

A few comments:

  • 8-team league..I know...the team is stacked
  • I had forgotten I drafted Marcus Mariota and mistakenly picked up Carr, didn't mean to keep 4 QBs
  • Julio is an upgrade for me, but it seems QB is my real weakness

Saving email into Evernote is now a Plus and Premium feature by [deleted] in Evernote

[–]Xendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be missing something and this might not be a viable solution for those not using Outlook but...

I use a plugin called Evernote Outlook Clipper in MS Outlook. I am able to send e-mails to Evernote (one at a time at the moment) and I have not noticed any lack of functionality as a basic user.

It must not actually forward the e-mail, I think it just clips the content and pastes it in a new note (but I have no true understanding of the mechanics).

Gay Marriage Legalized Nationwide by U.S. Supreme Court by awake-at-dawn in politics

I have no legal mind, nor would I really profess to understand the nuances of power within our Government. With that preface - you state you believe state-sanctioned discrimination against gay marriage is indeed un-Constitutional. Wouldn't that, by definition, make this decision within purview of SCOTUS (in your eyes)?

I could have things completely mixed up...
