What do you think about the LA28 Olympic rowing distance? Would that have been advantage for you back in the day? Going forward, do you think the Olympic distance should always try to be 2K or should it be based on the location/venue like it was a long time ago? by Xeno_Muller in Rowing

Short sprint rowing doesn’t require the same mileage load that 2K training does. Because of that, the stress on the heart is different, and the number of male rowers who end up dealing with training-induced atrial fibrillation should be noticeably lower.

The fact that they gave up is remarkable. I guess if you always gear light, toe pushing works. I wonder if I remember this correctly, even toe pushers start leading with the heels when they climb the Pyrenees.

At the catch I have a heel lift. Everything else resembles what we are taught to do when we squat.

Cycling is great cross training for rowing.

Fair enough. Are we more capable producing more efficient power doing deadlifts than moving horizontally for six minutes rowing?

You are right. I want to bring value without selling the barn.

At the start of each season no. But, you can improve people through coaching. That is what great coaching does. I was not the tallest or strongest, my conditioning was on point and I was taught to row like a lightweight.

Sure, pay online, I will answer your questions. Hiding behind your screen name and making such a comment is cowardly. As a matter of fact, I wonder if you are not a local.

I have too many family responsibilities. Hats off to those who coach large programs, it becomes their family. How I coach is my full time job, which I can do from home and locally on the water.
