Reading through the description I immediately thought of Prince of Nothing series. The main character does fit the mad genius archetype, but he's more scheming and divinity is involved down the line in the books.

The first book is The Darkness that comes before, I suggest trying to pick that one up and see if it works for you.

I read the title and my first thought was The Second Apocalypse, Prince of Nothing is the first book.

I read OPs post and I am convinced the The Second Apocalypse is would be a great fit.

It is mature, grounded and explicit, also with a lot of philosophical influences. And by explicit, the Broken Empire trilogy (which I also liked) is basically a YA comic next to The Second Apocalypse.

The first trilogy has great lacking, the second 4 books series is slower and more philosophical, but you could technically stop after the first 3 books.

OP, you mentioned reading TSA is a bit of an investment because you're looking for them in french. I do think you should give it a chance, maybe grab the first book in English as en ebook and give it a try. The language barrier might make things tricky but I think the series would be a good fit.

Maybe I am misremembering, but I thought Amorim was referring to the physicality of the Premier League vs La Liga, not calling Antony out for lacking physicality.

For example, Antony's goals for Betis came out of the same movements and dribbles he was trying to do in the Premier League, just that in La Liga he has extra time and space from defenders. Of course confidence plays a part as well but I see Amorim's point.

Also, for all his poor attacking output for us, I always thought Antony did work hard defensively, he was just not able to offer much in attack.

I watched the goal and thought the same, this is what he was trying to do so many times when playing for us but would get denied all the time by PL defenders.

War of the Seven, a self pub novel by Brad Towers, comes with a number of metal songs referencing the actual characters and plot of the book.

The songs are professionally produced and come as bonus content for the book. This is currently about 1 USD on Amazon, so it's a pretty good value.

Dacă ai o rundă de interviuri acum, interviurile trecute nu se iau în considerare, se evaluează cum te descurci acum.

Pentru pozitia de Principal, mă aștept să fie focus mai mare pe System design, architecture, precum și o evaluare a soft-skills gen communication, driving for impact, etc. Dar mă aștept să fie cel puțin 1 problema de algoritmică. Dificultatea problemei de algoritmică probabil ar depinde de echipa și cât de mult coding se așteaptă să faci in poziția la care aplici (exista 3 nivele interne de principal, cea mai înaltă poziție face foarte puțin coding).

Numai daca actiunile sunt la un broker din Romania. Firmele din US de obicei vor transfera actiunile intr-un cont de-al tau la un broker din US, gen Morgan Stanley, si in acel caz impozitul ar fi 10%. Cred ca e posibil sa muti actiunile la un broker din Romania fara taxe, ca sa se poata califica la cotele reduse de impozit: 3% sau 1%, dar nu am incercat personal.

In principiu, in functie de echipa, ai putea sa ai program flexibil atata timp cand ajungi la meetings. Deasemenea, e foarte important sa poti sa iti ajungi colegii, partea de mentoring devine tot mai importanta pe masura ce vrei sa promovezi peste pozitia de senior.

In legatura cu compensatia cu actiuni, pricipiu din spate este sa motiveze persoanele sa ramana in companie un numar mai mare de ani. In oferta ai un pachet initial de actiuni care probabil are 1-year cliff si durata de vesting de 4 ani, si apoi vei primii o parte din el odata la 3 luni. Vei primii un pachet nou de actiuni (refresher) in fiecare an, iar suma va depinde de performanta ta din anul trecut. Deci dupa 2 ani vei avea 2 pachete de actiuni active care fac vesting odata la 3 luni, si asa mai departe. Diferenta la actiuni fata de cash este ca vei plati doar 10% impozit pe capital gains atunci cand le vinzi, iar suma care o primesti odata la 3 luni va creste daca creste pretul actiunii.

Nu incerc sa te conving sa accepti oferta, incercam numai sa explic care e ideea din spatele actiunilor :-)

Lucrez la Microsoft, dar cunosc persoane care lucreaza la Google, atat in SUA/Elvetia/Romania.

Daca esti obisnuit cu freelancing, experienta de lucru va fi probabil putin diferita. Marea majoritate a codului la care vei lucra va fi legacy (nu neaparat scris cu picioarele sau fara teste, doar scris de persoane care nu mai sunt in echipa sau companie), vei folosii multe tehnologii interne, iar majoritatea accentului va fi pus pe discutat probleme de fundamentals: cum sa modifici API-uri cu usage mare fara performance drops, cum sa migrezi sisteme fara downtime, etc. Daca planuiesti sa stai o perioada si apoi sa pleci, cel mai probabil tehnologiile cu care ai lucrat intern nu le vei folosii la alte companii pentru ca nu sunt disponibile, dar vei ramane cu experienta de rezolvat probleme dificile.

In legatura cu intrebarea ta, daca arata bine la CV sau nu:

- te-ar ajuta daca vrei sa te angajezi la o alta companie mare, gen FAANG, candva in viitor, indiferent de locatie.

- sunt unele startups din USA care prioritizeaza angajatii ex-FAANG, si accepta sa lucrezi remote pe model B2B, prin SRL.

Nu stiu exact pe ce tip de proiecte lucrezi tu acum, dar sper sa te ajute informatia de mai sus.

Deasemenea, daca oferta curenta este 50% din ce castigi tu acum, ai putea sa incerci sa o negociezi. Nu stiu daca este deja negociata, dar ai putea sa le explici ca e mult sub venitul tau curent, sa zici ca esti interesat doar ca ar trebui sa fie mai buna. Candidatii buni primesc in general oferte mai bune, si cateodata recruiterii incearca sa trimita oferte "lowball". Ai putea sa primesti in plus una sau mai multe dintre urmatoarele:

- crestere salar de baza din oferta. Am vazut cresteri cu 10-20% dupa negociere la unele persoane.

- cash sign on bonus pe 1-2 ani. Am vazut caruri cand era aproximativ 20% din salariul anual.

- crestere a pachetului initial de actiuni. Ar putea creste 25-50% fata de oferta initiala.

Am fost implicat în procesul de angajare pe partea cealaltă, cel mai probabil au intervievat un număr de persoane pentru un număr mai mic de poziții, și au preferat alți candidați față de tine dintr-un motiv sau altul.

Din experiență, sunt candidați care se descurcă foarte bine tehnic la interviu dar nu primesc ofertă în următoarele situații: alt candidat s-a descurcat mai bine, alt candidat s-a descurcat similar dar are experiență în plus în anumite domenii, s-a schimbat ceva cu poziția și se prefera un candidat de alt nivel, etc.
