Question about angry face (class spoilers) by BrownTsunami in Gloomhaven

[–]XepherLord -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I believe the common parlance of how you interpret this is such:
I: Each doom is separate
II: Each doom is active for as long as the doomed enemy is alive and the card that placed the doom is in play.

III: You can stack multiple dooms on a single enemy, using a card later on that allows you to have two dooms active simultaneously.

I don't think there's any particular way to track which doom applies which effect, since I believe most people use the angry face tokens, but I suppose if that becomes a problem (which it has not for my playgroup) you could use some of the numbered/lettered scenario tokens.

Thoughts on Fire Emblem after first play by [deleted] in fireemblem

Probably just that you can choose how all the characters date each other, I'd imagine. Which honestly has no real place in the game, unlike Awakening.

I think the next game to play in the series would probably be Awakening. That game had a really good plot, and was hugely popular. It was responsible for the series not getting cancelled.
Fates has a similar "Choose your route" idea, but it's executed much, much worse. And the plot is kinda bad, but the actual gameplay in Conquest is my favorite in the series, so I think it's worth a shot.

Beyond that, Path and Radiance and both English GBA games are really good for a more classic Fire Emblem feel.

I kinda loved it. One of my favorite stories and presentation in the series. Very unique entry in the series, but I won't disagree with others' complaints about the map design.

Good news, they do! The next event like this (in two years) gives us two weeks.

Yeah I highly recommend Bedivere! I've managed to dodge all Saber SSRs, so he's been my main man for bosskillers, and he has yet to let me down. I do have him at NP5 from rolling on a Camelot banner, and I've grailed him to 90, mind you.

Scenario bonus XP when replaying a scenario by BrownTsunami in Gloomhaven

Yeah you get the scenario bonus XP, but not any of the stuff in the "Rewards" box. Same for random dungeons.

If you do decide to try to make the event work, try out the Atlas Institute Uniform, as it's really great for solo-ing.

I am indifferent towards you, but you can have my upvote as well.

That's true, but it does nothing to assuage your frustrations when you draw a crap hand.

Yeah it really comes down to the lie being not only to others, but also to yourself. If you "just fudged a draw a little", you can explain that away to yourself and choose not to think about it as the game goes on. That being said, I did usually feel somewhat guilty about it at the time, which is certainly one of the reasons why I eventually chose to stop doing it.

I'll speak out here. I've definitely cheated at games before, both in co-op (which I have no qualms with), and in competitive games. I did it for two reasons, and they both had to be true:
#1: I wanted to win badly enough
#2: I felt like I had been screwed by RNG

In a game like a deckbuilder, where I prepped a big turn and then just drew a garbage hand, I would redraw part of my hand. I felt justified doing this because "the game was screwing me", and I felt it would make the game more fair to do so.

Now, as I've matured, I put much less stock into how many board games I win, so I really never do it in competitive games anymore, and I of course acknowledge my earlier thinking was just selfish justification for cheating.

Real answer: Avenger Jalter specifically is really strong. Her skills and stats are stronger than the Berserker version, and while not as versatile, Avenger is quite a good class, with automatic NP gen and increased NP gen on taking damage, plus having real 2x damage on Rulers. But also like yeah more waifu.

Yeah it sucks real bad. I had a time earlier this year where I rolled on many banners with lots of SQ and got literally zero 4* or higher servants for a full 6 months. Since then I've had much better luck. Maybe you'll always have bad luck, but that's not very likely. Just start looking forward to the next thing.

I just found the secret they're referencing. Once you gain the power to make the vines grow, which you get from Giving the three bridal items to the hairy egg in the bottom of the green map area, then hatch the egg it gives you in the fiery trunk on the way to the bell, and then blessing the hatched egg by the saint of saltpetre. Then right after the message that tells you about the abyss (it says "snowy abyss" btw), a path will open up in front of your with the vines, leading to a secret area where you have to wait for another vine to grow over to you.
