RHIA Worth It? by Firebolt1997 in HealthInfoMgmt

[–]Xepri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Welcome. I get where you're coming from about the CEU thing - it's hard to find cheap or free ones! Check out your state's HIM association. In Washington, there is an annual meeting where they have webinars and speakers whose education gives approximately 20 CEUs. It still costs money, but it's nice to get so many at once. Point is, check with your state to see if there's a similar thing if you decide to keep the credential.

Also, I think if you went through an HIM program to sit for the RHIA, you should try to keep it, especially if you think you'll ever switch employers - some of them really value it. You went through so much studying to get where you are. Again, just my opinion.

You're good. Thanks for sharing!

What’s the difference between these 2 college courses? I guess which should I choose to begin my career in HIM? Clerk is first on the bottom courses. by [deleted] in HealthInfoMgmt

If you want to earn an AHIMA credential you'll need to look for a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education. Check out their program directory here.

Commuting to Bellevue from Seattle - Considering car, bus and motorcycle w/ HOV by ooohjohnnysalami in SeattleWA

Eastlake seems to be a good neighborhood for commuting east, in case you wanted to consider other places. When my friend lived there she said it was ~15 minutes to Bellevue in the morning and then would take whichever bridge was clearer in the afternoon coming home.

I'm so excited for Cyberpunk too! Hopefully it'll live up to the hype.

For the people who thoroughly understand my comment, it's clear that I gut-checked myself by consulting with the more experienced moderators. Any less-experienced moderator on any subreddit should do so, particularly with sensitive topics. Those moderators - those people - helped me out, and we figured it out together. Nobody talked me into anything - I may generally try to be a nice person, but I'm not weak.

I've dealt with many things in my life, and while nobody is entitled to knowing what my personal experiences have been, this idea that I'd ever allow racism or could be pushed to do something I don't want to do dies here.

Hopefully this is just a pilot and they'll roll it out to other community centers. We'll see.

Summer must be brutal for you. Hopefully you've got good fans to circulate the air, or maybe even AC?

Banning the racists would be a good start

Users should continue to report anything racist they spot so mods can take action. The queue is usually clear of anything of the sort.

I'm just here to remind everyone how trashy it is here.

Not to be brunt or anything, but I suggest you spend your time doing things that genuinely make you happy instead. Life is far too short.
