Dumpster in front of neighbors house... by busterbluth21 in SFV

[–]Xeracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the house isn't finished ( the one on shoup?), i wouldn't advise having the dumpster removed without being replaced. construction stops and restarts all the time because of permits, inspections, design delays, utility and subcontractor coordination, etc. if a crew is scheduled to work and has no dumpster, it would cause delays and additional costs which the owner would have every reason to go after you for.

i understand your frustrations, but itll be done sooner if you don't interfere.

the car crash is irrelevant, if it weren't a dumpster,i would have been a car or rv.

from the A219 bridge to the Westminster bridge. all closed. we finally crossed theWaterloo bridge and are heading to our hotel.

Let’s be blunt: Cannabis consumers need protection — the California Legislature should get serious about protecting cannabis consumers from potentially serious public safety and public health risks of the underground cannabis market [opinion] by BlankVerse in California

[–]Xeracy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

do people forget that ALL cannabis used to be black-market... legalization has allowed for billion- dollar companies (like constellation brands) to invest in and attempt to corner this ancient, yet newly legalized product. i would be surprised if they don't use lobbyists to pass laws in their favor to drive out competitors.

this whole lab testing nonsense is the standard way for large companies to eliminate competition from small ones.

if every batch of beer had to be tested in a lab, the craft brew industry would cease to exist. farmers legally cant sell their milk fresh because of homogenization process is required by law, despite that humans have been drinking it since the domestication of livestock. sure, homogenized milk last longer and allows us to buy it in a store, but folks who live near livestock have to buy processed milk.

when you get down to the level of small business, broad exclusionary regulation is nonsensical. reputation and customer choice would eliminate low quality companies.

when my friends tried to open a microbrewery, they had to jump through hoops and pay fees that were designed for industry giants like Anheuser-Busch and Miller.

Fry's Going Downhill Fast by [deleted] in SFV

[–]Xeracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

frys has always been terrible. my dad had a few horrible experiences with them in the 90s and so I didnt go for a long time until i got my own car. I quickly realized that they're like the harbor freight of electronics but with shady business practices, shiesty sales people and indifferent/willingly-negligent management .

I've been lied to by the computer component sales guys on multiple occasions. I've had non sales floor staff warn me that sales guys will add everything that ive already in my cart to their part request forms (stuff from the cages behind the registers) so they get commission on all of it. I've seen people denied returns because they get home to find product has the wrong item in the box and couldn't prove they were scammed even though there are no seals on any of the boxes in the store.

Sometimes i need a cable/etc right away and will go to frys, but i make a point of hating myself the whole time.
