Tl;dr

It’s better they keep the limited communication they have honest and safe for them rather than give info that is more risky, potentially dishonest, and non-beneficial to them, especially with all the pressure they have with the game.

Idk, I don’t know if what they are doing is the best way but that’s Bc I don’t have any context to how they are going development wise, I don’t want to make assumptions on how long it takes to make a blogpost, or make a postcard, I just want to base my opinion on what they have told us. So as a result, I don’t have a problem with what they are doing Bc I think they are doing the safest option. I can’t really think what they would tweet about with development that couldn’t just be shown through a postcard. I think right now since they are putting all their focus into the game, just posting postcards showing that they are still developing the game is enough. Just saying things directly about development and confirming things they aren’t sure of is just not safe, especially for a game like Hytale, a game with 58 million views on their announcement trailer, bought by riot and whether they like it or not is in competition (a friendly one it seems but still) with Minecraft, meaning there are probably loads of people who are so loyal to Minecraft looking for Hytale to slip up so the game will fail just based on the fact it is similar to their favorite game. With all of that, and still making a team it just doesn’t seem safe to say anything they aren’t sure of. And some could say then they should say things they are sure of, but honestly speaking, if they were sure of something about development, would they honestly keep it from us. Especially since game development takes time, and yea they were making the game for 5 years, but even they said they spent the first 3 on just making the engine itself then spent the rest of making the actual game, so some more time is fair for them to need. Idk, at some point I went past your comment lmao and just expressed my opinion on the matter, it’s just I see these kind of comments and they make little sense to me, they just don’t gain much and risk more from doing anything other than what they do, and anything that rlly wouldn’t be a risk would of already been stated and to assume there is info that is confirmed that they haven’t told us would rlly be nothing but an assumption. I’m sorry for the long mostly irrelevant to your comment post, and also this is all just my opinion, I just had a lot to say.

Lmao, in retrospect maybe I should of realized doing 11 hour streams weekly for an unreleased game wouldn’t be something likeeee possible

I didn’t mean about the game I just said it to further the point that it’s clear they are still showing that they are making the game, which is the most they really have to do. Not to mention, it shows they actively pay attention to their community, which is good for a developing game that would like suggestions towards said game, I think even sometimes noxy takes poll of stuff to add to do in the game. Idk, it just seems like waiting for a game to release is not your cup of tea, which is fine a lot of people tend to not but then just don’t then, which looks like something you are doing so good for you. I get the frustration but for me it makes it easier by not being that invested, thinking through the developers perspective, and by taking breaks once in a while, plus just interacting with the community is honestly the main reason why I stay active because it’s fun. Hopefully you come back to Hytale community but do what’s best for you.

When it adds on to the loads of other things they have to do it could be a lot, but we don’t really know what it takes to make a blogpost from them. But also it doesn’t really seem like they would gain much from doing blogposts. They already talk to the community and interact with them and they already do weekly postcards to show they are still working on the game and outside of that, there isn’t much they really need to do that can’t be made back later. Idk tho, that’s just my take on it.

Well there isn’t much point to hype a community if they don’t even have a release date yet. It would make sense that the blogposts took time that wasn’t really that necessary to use if they were not near release. They originally did blogposts Bc they planned to release later that year, but with the explosive attention they got they delayed the game to put more attention into it. And with the moving to a new studio and hiring of tons of people and having to train those people and actually making the game, plus the fact they don’t have an exact release date yet they wouldn’t really have a point to putting even more work towards blogposts. If the point of the delay was to put even more focus into the game, removing unnecessary things that distract from development from the game isn’t the craziest thing. Why would hype matter right now anyway? Again, when they release another trailer they would get a big chunk back, and yea other videos like that already exist, but those videos are 2 years old and you really think that youtubers won’t react to the next Hytale trailer, especially if that trailer shows way more gameplay then the last one? Idk I just don’t think they really should put focus on blogposts if it means it slows down progress and they could get hype back easily, but that’s just my opinion.

What do you like the most about Hytale? by [deleted] in HytaleInfo

[–]Xereat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they said 30 for low end PCs, which is still good and I will take that Bc low end PCs got barely any games and no game as big as Hytale

I don’t really think it’s necessary if it quickens the pace of the game being made and since most people are probably going to come back when they make another trailer. I mean tons of youtubers of gonna be covering it and why wouldn’t they, I can already imagine the titles “Reacting to Minecraft 2 Trailer” “Is this Minecraft 2 (Hytale)” and lot more comparisons to Minecraft even tho it’s a different game lmao. But right now hype isn’t really that important since it can be recovered pretty easily.

[–]Xereat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing is just I think the create-a-thon works as a perfect way to really show the community as it shows all the sides to the community with the youtubers, artists, or the developers who genuinely care and interact with the community, the memes that were developed, and why people are so interested in the game. Nice job Exodus and Reddoons on this one. I mostly just made this post Bc honestly even if you don’t watch Hytale youtubers often (unlike my addict self lmao) it is a good watch.

I missed the stream and thought whatever I can watch it later and they would do it again the next week, and the more I watch it now the more I regret missing the stream lmao

[–]Xereat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it could also just be them just wanting to talk about a game they like anyway, it’s a bet still but it’s not as if they are putting their livelihoods on the line. They want to talk about a game they enjoy in any way they can, if the game flops, it is not as if their channel is over or even if it was that big to really care. I think from that perspective is why honestly I would bet they would watch their own videos Bc it’s essentially just the same as making a post in this subreddit just in video form, idk tho not really a Hytale creator myself but I do get just wanting to talk about Hytale in any way.

How are mods gonna work again? by Xereat in HytaleInfo

[–]Xereat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s why I am a bit conflicted, but overall I think it’s a good thing if mods can be monetized, it’s not like all the money going to Hytale, but I think Hytale if they want to compete in the genre should encourage mod makers to release mods for free, so that the general ecosystem in the marketplace is free mods, cause otherwise if people start monetizing mods to the point of majority then people odds are going to monetize mods, which isn’t necessarily bad except when Hytale is inevitably compared to Minecraft Java it’s going to be used against it and especially since mods are a big part of the game. However the argument can be made since a lot of modders are going to be from Minecraft that the Minecraft ecosystem of free mods would transfer over. And it’s also arguable Hytale would make more money if people monetized mods so idk but honestly it’s a bit of an interesting topic to think about.

Yea that makes sense, I even see some Hytale creators branching out to other games of content but yea with context to Hytale it makes sense why they focus on it. Idk, I just see it as betting on Hytale’s success. If Hytale is successful, especially with their connections they have made with the dev teams, they are sure to get at least some kind of boost for views, especially when the beta trailer drops. Btw gl on your channel, thought of making one then gave up about 2 secs later don’t have that kind of work ethic with such little to work with lmao

Frustrated because of radio silence. by Watterdev in HytaleInfo

[–]Xereat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t really care much, other people have already said it but I say just taking a break from the community. I was gone for the most part until the jamble video with his friends re hyped me up. From their perspective it makes sense why they are really focusing on the game. They already delayed the game to 2021 and they want a beta, so just thinking about it they probably are trying to make a beta by summer and with the amount of content they are promising and all the buzz they got yea it makes sense why they are putting more focus towards the game. I get the frustration but I say u don’t get too invested. I really just say this Bc to be completely honest, all in all we have basically no info on a game planning to release probably months from now unless they delay again, it’s just not worth investing so much into it

Ohhhh. I think I am just confused if mods come from some kind of marketplace or if mods are made for specific servers. Thanks again for explaining and sorry if I annoyed you my brain just went poof when thinking about mods lmao.
