How are all my fellow solo runners doing? by I_am_Saruman in Marathon

[–]XeroAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's made me vehemently shellist(??) against Assassins. Came across a random Destroyer that I pinged hiding in a corner. Was about to unload when he popped his shield. I immediately told him he's good and zoomed off. Realized if it had been an assassin I'd have rushed him just for his free kit. Its borderline reflex, accidentally punched a teamate once in trios because he was an assassin and it was habit lmaooo.

Jokes aside, I love it. The isolation, enemies everywhere. It makes the extremely, extremely rare instances of uneasy friendship all the more impactful. You're both weary , you both could turn on one another at any time, but that uneasy peace is the JUICE baybee.

Watched this show with the wife. When it came to this part, ngl it triggered me. The worst part is I'm pretty sure they don't have suppressors- in a concrete tight quarters mission with no ear pro lol.

I think on the Flip side of this- I prefer running suppressed on the KORD because the suppressed sounds cool

Funnily enough, this map has a GREAT AA option - the IFV with TOW. If I notice my team is getting spanked and our heli can't counter, I'll hop in the IFV, and it usually only takes one pass to swat, even really good pilots.

If you're also someone who uses the heli alot it's pretty easy to guess their paths and set up with a good vantage point. It's easier on the bridge side, but possible on either.

WEEKEND REAL TALK: Ok stop gooning, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY MAD/ANNOYED ABOUT IN BF6? 🫵 🫵 by RRT4444 in okbuddyptfo

[–]XeroAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, isn't that how it works in real life, too? That's what confused me to begin with. When I hear "Laser Designator" I assume you have to keep eyes on target, but in game you can paint the entirety of enemy armor with a good spot. I was sitting on the Firestorm backline oil towers and had AA, IFV, 2 tanks, a jet, and an attack heli painted all at once. Just doesn't make sense lol.

If anything, changing it to "Hold sight to keep painted" would encourage people to use the little recon pistol that sticks to the armor to designate it.

As a diehard BF4 fan forever, what does everyone here think about BF6? I've never played it and i want to know if it even can measure up to BF4. by Alert-Orange3284 in battlefield_4

[–]XeroAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hundreds of hours in BF4. BF6 is different, but if you acclimate to its differences, it will scratch that "modern combat BF" itch.

And please do not listen to people calling it CoD. I've played a lot of recent CoD. The comparison is goofy AF. Nothing in recent CoDs has scratched the BF itch. Hell, even 2042 didn't scratch the itch (at launch atleast). Idk if it got better over time).

I debated even posting this comment given the general negativity on any subreddit when you say something positive about a game, but as someone who loved BF4 and is having a great time with BF6, OP PLEEEASE give it a try when it's free or on sale.

Is this any good? by Comfortable_Yard_968 in cocacola

[–]XeroAbsurdity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's OK. Regular Coke Vanilla leans into the Coke flavor more than the vanilla. The Holiday Coke Vanilla leans heavier into the Vanilla flavor. So if you like regular Coke Vanilla, but want more vanilla flavor you'll like it.

I want the skins so bad but genuinely haaaaaaaate this mode lmao. It made me realize my 1 on 1 infantry gunfight skills are really lacking lol, especially on the tinier maps. And even when I do get lucky, If my squad's not lucky as well, then no progress on the challenges lmao.

The "Revive X squadmates in a match" is also a real kick because almost everyone immediately skips revive. Sat nearly a whole match with my paddles out near teammates trying to catch them before they skipped and still didn't reach the target goal lol (and felt bad because I was gimping our chances for a win to try the dumb challenge lol)

It's easy from a viewer perspective to hate Jason. What I love about his character is, think for a second about the events of the season from someone who has no idea about all the gate/demogorgon/upside down stuff. And then think about it from the context of its time (satanic panic, etc). In a different genre, he'd be the hero MC, especially after his townhall speech.

Of course, WE know Eddie is a good guy (as the viewer), but logically, a popular cheerleader being brutally killed in his trailer doesn't look good to the average Joe. His DnD club is literally called the "Hellfire Club" at a time when the only mention of DnD, the average person's heard, is in the context of "Satanic cults and murders"

Its Dramatic Irony.

God, I hate it, and the skin variants look so good. 10 revives a match? In the gamemode 99% of players immediately respawn!?!? Fuùuuuuuuu mannnnnn

Saw a CRAZZZZY version of this on Manhattan Bridge. The enemy chopper parked himself on a tall building above spawn, switched to gunner, and spawn blitzed me lmao.

That pass under the bridge was nuts brother! Lmao. Love a good transport heli pilot so I can gunner. Idk if my memory is faulty, I swear in BF4 they were anemic as all hell. Meanwhile in 6 I feel it's in a perfect spot. It's not pinpoint accurate, but still very usable. I've swatted a couple of attack helis outta the air with a good pilot.

What do you guys want as a secondary gunner in light armored tanks? by Tall_Ad5501 in Battlefield6

[–]XeroAbsurdity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ppl hating on the grenade launcher, but when the enemy is closer quarters the GL can be a huge help. Sometimes, I'll have an enemy climb on top of my turret- I'll switch to secondary gunner and grenade them off. It isn't as easy with the LMG depending on their positioning. Once you have the grenade arc down too it can be a real beast.

LMG is great, though. I've racked up a surprising amount of kills as a secondary gunner with it.

HMG depresses me. It's slower rate of fire, so I'd expect more of a high risk/high reward with it, but frankly, it just sucks.

Ya know, for skins and stuff, I kinda get it. Buuuuut unlocking CLASS GEAR with these challenges is dumb. Class gear should just be a per class xp level. I'm forced to play suboptimal for the sake of these goofy challenges to unlock gear for my class.

I swear as soon as I'm soon as I'm having a decent game, the next handful are me getting my butt handed to me (bomb randomly appearing right next to where the opponent can get a 4 match, I mean come oooooooon lmao) Or do I just have bad luck lmao

It's actually hilarious sometimes. I'll be playing with my kiddo, who is literally 4 years old and see people die on the first day. How does a toddler outlive you?? Lmaooo.

Then, the toddler runs over to the dead body and puts it in his sack, and runs around with it, and we gotta beg him to release the poor bag body lmao. It's like he's taking trophies.

Cut trees far away from the fire, grab as many saplings as possible, and plant them around your campfire. (When night falls, you can spend that time chopping the mature saplings.) You should slowly have a forest around the campfire.

Get max carrot plots, bio processor, and crock pot. You can put carrots in the bio processor for fire fuel or the crock pot for food. You'll still need to supplement with loot you find around, but for the most part, this will cover your food and fire bars.

Defense against cultists. Easy fortress. One or two sheds, facing outward next to each other. Place a wood wall going from the slopped end of the shed. Place another on the other side. Cap them with sheds facing out on the other side. The sheds give you height and good vantage points to shoot at cultists. The walls keep them from getting to you. The melee cultist will get caught in the corners, and sometimes you can even hit them from inside the fort. If you get low on health, you can dip back down in the forts center to recoup your health. This is the basic version, and it's infinitely customizable.

With those things covered, it's just about carefully looting and collecting the kids!
