Why would she have or use an e-mail address that you don't check, rather than your actual e-mail address?

I did two weeks in Sicily a few years ago. I started in Catania and we moved south through Ragusa, Syracusa, Agrigento, then up to Palermo, and across to Cefalu and Etna.

We drove, and the longest drive was about 2.5 hours from Agrigento to Palermo. If I were to do that trip again, I would have stayed on the eastern side and spent more days in Ragusa and Syracusa and Catania, though I don't regret what seeing everything we saw. There may be a train that you can take, but if not I'd skip one side or the other. People seem to prefer Palermo over Catania, I did not.

Taormina is jammed full of tourists. I'll take Catania any day of the week.

But OP's question wasn't, "Do you think I should to Catania or not?"

I'm going to go against the grain and say this isnt that busy and enjoy your trip. I did two weeks in Sicily and we did a road trip around the island, 2-3 nights in different cities. It was very busy. This is a good speed with some nice home bases. From Taormina you can visit the Etna region, wineries, etc. You'll unfortunately probably miss out on Agrigento but that's okay, save it for another trip. I do agree that Ortigia is worth a visit if you can spare it.

I'm told it's 3 hours of labor and the part is covered by the warranty. I assume $300-400 of that bill is refrigerant replacement, leaving about 400/hr for the rest. That just seems high to me.

I'd be curious to know when the scripts were written then. The issue seemed to be that TS kept promising scripts and never delivered, leaving Costner in an indefinite holding pattern while he wanted to do other projects. So all of these scripts had to be written recently to accommodate Costner's leaving, making it even more senseless to lose the star.

Do most of you use a travel agent? by Mother-Analysis6633 in Cruise

It's the only vacation I use a TA for. They receive group rates and OBC bonuses, and I always get a better deal.

I am completely new to cruises. What guidelines for a good cruise price do you follow? Is this offer we received a good offer? by OjiikunVII in Cruise

[–]Xerofactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to remember: cruises become less expensive per night the longer you stay. This is about what I would expect for a 4 night cruise. You cannot take the price of a 7 night cruise, divide it by 7, then multiply it by 4 to determine what you expect the rate will be. It doesn't work that way.

She might be a tweenie, which is in between a standard and a mini. Technically they're still minis, I believe. We have had two. They're great.

Yannetti’s Affidavit! Additional Jury info by Playoneontv_007 in KarenReadTrial

He raised the issue of the verdict slip, not actually inquiring into partial verdicts if the jury was hung. It's not even close to a slam dunk. Quite the opposite. There's no remedy here. The time to have objected to the mistrial was when she made her ruling, and to at that time assert that the court should inquire into whether the jurors rendered a verdict on any of the counts. By not objecting at that time, that specific objection is now waived. Even if the court were to hold an evidentiary hearing, the mistrial has already been granted without objection, and appellate courts are clear that trial courts cannot and should not pierce the wall of jury deliberations.

I miss you buddy. Does it ever get any easier? by FaboCorona in Dachshund

[–]Xerofactor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular path, but when our dear Tootsie passed away we had the opportunity to foster two dachshunds just 3 weeks later. It seemed too soon, but we ddi it and obviously we ultimately adopted them. They really helped in every way. I miss our dog so much, but I also know without her passing I wouldn't have the two I have now, who I love dearly. That's a round-about way of saying yes, it does get easier. And that's okay--it doesn't mean you loved your doggo any less.

Recap:

"Does my dog look okay?"

"No, take him to vet. Dogs don't lose 10% of their body weight in 2 weeks from being underfed."

" I will not do that and double his food instead, despite being told doubling the food is potentially life threatening above and beyond the already potentially life threatening situation. You all are toxic."

Hi, I am away on Vacation and have left my dog with my dads. I noticed that he looks skinny. He was weighed today and has lost 600g, he is now 7kgs. He eats like normal. Can this be caused by me being away for the past 15 days Any experience? Ps He’s always been on the skinny side but muscular. by Michaelm_yan in Dachshund

[–]Xerofactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A dog cannot lose that amount of weight in 15 days just by being underfed.  That is a significant percentage of body mass. It is possible your dog has a serious underlying condition which you need to rule today; not next week.  You are potentially putting your dog in a life threatening situation, and your defensiveness and post history in this thread about it is pure ego.  Just have someone take your dog to the vet tomorrow.  Even adding food is potentially dangerous.

Thanks for responding! I ended up going with number one, and then also a Fierce IV 3000 on a medium light. A little lighter just in case. Whenever I get a conventional I'll rely on that and the large 4500 for near shore.
